Bro,

I was in the elevated highway this PM and driving at 140-150km/h and realize there was some light vibration on the bottom of the car. I just changed 2 x lower arms at the back and the rest still in good condition. Could it be due to wheel balancing or could it be the road itself???
I know my alignment is slightly off and will be straightening this weekend.

Any other idea???

pls ensure u do all in one package , the balancing & allignment.....waaaa u can stil wait till weekend hah.....good luck bro

c u tonite at the TT........cheers

I did experience this with my previous car. The problems is with the rims and damaged tyres, the problems are not visual.

To troubleshoot put on an original 15 or 16' rim from other car, have it balanced and aling. If this solve the problem then you know it is the rims or the car.

Good luck

u got the point there....ok lets try it this weekend...shall write my review after that....stay tune...hahhaha

I had some bad falkens on my 18" before (noisy, hard) -caused a slight shaking of the car at 90/100kmh but not the steering. I found a great balancing and alignment expert in JB, he rotated the wheels (remove and refit) a few times and the result was remarkable. No more shaking... so I guess your rims and all can still be good.
Now that I'm so much wiser, I have this to tell you... when u buy a new tyre, there are yellow and red marks on the tyres (and a blue line on the tread surface) to tell you inherent imperfection on the tyre, even as new. Good alignment / balancing specialists know how to fit the tyres onto your rims to neutralise / cancel these effects on the car. I guess Malaysia still lacks some good wheel mechanics. Our guru Jerman posted this link before, worth a read http://www.chris-longhurst.com/carbibles/tyre_bible.html

I Don Think 18 Inch Rim Will Cause The Problem, I Had 15 Inch For 18months And Just Lower My E39 With Billstein Shock Absober And Elbach Coil Spring And 18 Inch Rim. Both 15 And 18 Inches Rim Able To Reach 200km/hr Smoothly.

if your rim is perfectly fit then i don't think is a problem...but some rim ijust not rite for the car...but some ow u got it in...so it might cause some problem./..well is a lot of aspect to consider......

I am telling you this in the spirit of info sharing (that's a disclaimer). I find the best so far is the shop in Taman Tun Aminah. If you come on Jalan Skudai from JB, and turn left into the Tmn T. Aminah exit, and turn right at the traffic light you will reach the Good Hope Hotel. Turn left at the Mamak Restaurant and drive to the end, the shop is on the right (next to the big drain). Don't get confused with the other one left. The owner is a 4x4 enthusiast so he has a few tricked out 4x4s at the shop. Do alignment and balance but get your tyres elsewhere. Good luck.

bro,
Just a thought...........if your problems still persist despite having done all the balancing, perhaps you need to add the hub eccentric cones/rings to minimise the vibration as a few mm gap between the centre hole/hub and rim will cause the wobbling!
