I realized there were some questions in regards to the type of ATF oil which is the recommended or suitable to use to the types of slush-boxes that is fitted to your car.Well, here's a quick summary of the types of ATF oil that you are to use when you're due for a change. This should be handy to many.ZF Transmission (1991-1999)

I am still confused. So which manufacturer made my E39 2002 525i AT gbox?

Is it ZF or GM?

ZF bro. 5HP19 - it's the code. Read the heading at the top the chart.

Thanks pussy, but if you read clearly there is also a GM gbox for the same model.

I hope mine is ZF.

just kick un your VIN code in realoem, n there will be a code to your type of transmission.. it wont show like ZF 5hp 19, but it will show like mine, A5S 325Z.. so basically, based on the code its 5hp 19..

guys, this one thing keeps me wonder, it is not that important, but, in my grant it is stated that my car is 1999, but in realoem it is 1/2000. why is it so? i just wonder why

same like my case. grant says built in 2002 but realoem says 2001. i checked underhood tag it says built july 2001, made in germany. i thought before mine is uk built.

bro zib, for GM type i think is only for period of september 2000 - march 2001 based on the graph.
 
at least yours stated later.. mine is earlier.. how can they even registered mine before its even built! hahaha

AP car? If yes, then they purposely to lower the value.
