E36 temperamental electric seat..

Guess what?My driver's electric seat decided to go AWOL!The fore/aft movement suddenly is not working, where else the incline & the seat height motors are OK...Can only conclude that the motor is off the blink!I wil be taking it to BM Tech tomorrow & *gulp* see how much the damage is..

Motorised parts, beyond a certain age, inevitable... if I was your electric seat, i'd give up and die too, hee hee hee.... jez kidding bro

But, usually, the seat is ok because one does not change the seating position that often... on second thought, yours is a sexy cabriolet babe magnet on wheels, so I guess you DO change your seat position VERY OFTEN....

Might help if you get a second opinion at another workshop, for the comfort of knowing u got a decent quote...

exchange my seats with your and you'll be worry free

Most of the time, it might not b the motor.
Had the same problem.Turn out the the cable was worn out at tip.
My mechanic took out the cable,cut it shorter bout 1" n plug it back in.
It's working fine.

Thanks for the offers! U all are far-neee....

My mechanic checked again this morning & told me that it is the switch that's NG. And there's no such stock as far as KL is concern.

Now, the search has extended to Singapore....

At the meantime, the mechanic is going to adjust the seat for me to fit....
