E36 side signal lamp

hi all sifulike to ask you all....which one is the original onecause i saw some different side signal before (the small lamp between the front wheel and the door, on the side)some of them are like this(front of car) \#####\ (rear of car)some of them is like this(front of car) /#####/ (rear of car)which one is the original one...thanks.

there are no pix in your thread . pls repost - but I can picture what you are trying to say ...
pre 97 have the big / long hexagonal shape type while post 97 have smaller square type .
you can retrofit to pre 97 but need some tinkering on the panel as the slot is slightly smaller
on the post 97 .

i borrow photo from other ppl photo...

i notice some of the E36 signal lamp are facing other side...
so dono which one is the real one

Sam ,

Both the blue & silver cars are of the same type BUT it was wrongly fitted
on the silver one - the owner got it swapped .
Left signal was fixed to right panel & vice versa . The blue one got it right .

Ask me how I know :listen:- LOL .

This is what I meant for the post 97 model , it's of a smaller design & without
the rubber moldings .

oic.... no wonder i feel on both car.. the silver one looks strange...
so how u know can fix it the other direction one?

i was bored one sun am & took out both signals to throughly clean them & the gunks under the rubber molding . got them swapped when i fix them back :stupid:
