Hi,Just detected a little pool of oil below the autobox of my E36 318iS. The autobox still shifts fine, no gearbox light on the dash, but naturally I need to get the car jacked up to looked at later. Are there many seals/gasket that go with age that should be replaced? Sump gaskets etc? Is there a seal/gasket replacement kit for the autobox? Please tell me I don't need a complete overhaul of the autobox cos it shifts just fine. Thanks!

By LUCK it should be one of the gearbox seals but to confirm, have it raised and checked by a COMPETENT workshop or else you will kena potong!
Go soon before the rot spreads........LOL!

could be gear selector oil seal, size of a 5cents coin, changed mine for RM18. and no more leaking...

first foremost ..what sort of colour oil do you see on the ground ...reddish or brownish ...

If brownish ..highly could be your Flywheel oil seal which is quite common ...
