E36 - Carbon Monoxide Emission

Hi guys , Strange that no one wants to comment on the incident last weekend where a chief inspector was found dead in an R&R in his car for COpoisoining .Think it an metallic blue E36 . Saw it in the new clips . I thought beemers ( or most conti cars ) do have a build in air intake where a small portion of outside air will be flowing in even the car is in internal air circulation mode .

IMHO, she got impaled...


Back to topic, it isn't safe to sleep with the engine running, PERIOD. With newer cars, the risk is lower but still not safe. The BMW in this case may have an exhaust leak and perhaps the gas leaked into the cabin from broken seals.

I think a lot of us here would like to speculate on other causes of death for the 2 unlucky souls. Mysteries and conspiracies are good stories, but bear in mind death from CO poisoning happened to the family sleeping in the kancil while the father was busy peddling shoes at the market. Remember that case. Perodua went defensive and conducted their own investigation and said that the kancil had modified exhaust system which leaked CO into the car..

A sobering thought because I know many of us are running with modded exhausts too...

Anyway, nowadays I never sleep in my car with the engine running. Had a close shave once....
