hey guys!just wanna get your opinion. My e36 is vibrating during idling, it is worse when the engine is cold. When it is warm, it seems like it's not too obvious. There is no lose of power during driving nor there is any vibration as well. So, this would eliminate engine mounting as suspect. I suspect some vacuum leak somewhere. I have previously changed the crank case vent pipe before and have the ICV (idling control valve) and throttle body cleaned about 3 months ago.I think the oil separator could have been clogged up. I am also eager to plug in the computer to check if any sensor is konked.Any other suggestion on plausible causes?

Went to the mechanic last Saturday.
Plugged in computer, it showed air mass sensor fault...

Reset the damm fault code, car is back to normal. No more idling issues until today.

I still don't know what caused the fault code.

So problems solved? Good..
Mine, the mech said itr is the coil (at the spark plug)..old car...

Problem solved for now...
But I start to suspect that my O2 sensor could be faulty as well. However, I need to check using multimeter. According to Bentley Service Manual, the O2 sensors should give 0.2 to 0.8 Vdc (fluctuating) during idling.

also check your cam sensor..mine kaput last week..rough n shaky idling...and now solved.

FINALLY got it solved today!
It's the vacuum hose from intake manifold to brake servo pump that was developing a leak. Now it's what it is supposed to be.. silky smooth idling.
