My window cannot wind up once it comes down. Check with the accessories shop and mechanics and it needs RM 400 - RM 700 to fix it.I check the part from Kereta Potong shop. It comes with so many terms. They said got 5 slides and 7 slides. The motor got 1 sided and 2 sided? Then some said it might be the socket, then some say the motor won't be wear off so easily.Ask from a shop from PJ - Brand new cost RM 390. The other shop from Cheras cost RM 790.00 and another shop from PJ caused RM 900.00This really confused me? I just wanna fix the window so i dun have to open the door every time I went through the TOL....Can some one advise me on this issue...Appreciate it a lot.

I think it's the motor.
Happened to me recently, my (driver side) window can't wind up automatically...need to hold the button until it reaches the top & this accompanied by a terrible sound!
got a 2nd hnd motor from kedai ptg( -+RM 200-Ipoh)..wallaa.... e'thg went normal.

* better check from any bmw mech. & try other people motor 1st., just to make sure it's the motor prob. Kalau ada laaa....hope this may help.

the foreman at my place just did similar work on one e36
last week

not sure what he changed but cost the customer 300+

Might be just the bushings.Cheap2 to remedy but labor might be a bit expensive.Still cheaper than replacing the motor. Better send to a reputable workshop for consultation than kena ketuk. :D

Base on your model, your power window is the X-brace type.

i.e. the X brace will lift or lower the glass pane via the motor.

I have similar problem when the window pane misalign and cause
the white plastic guide to be broken. There are 2 piece that glide
on the xbrace. It cause about RM8 per piece. Replace this and
apply new grease and it will work fine.

Sometime the switch could be faulty and cause the motor
not to be turn on.
