Anybody has H&R/bilsteins sport setup on thier car? how's the feel? will this be too hard for daily drive? How is this compare to Eibach/bilstein sport and Eibach/koni? Height & handling? Currently have Eibach Pro/koni on my ride, thinking to change to H&R/bilstein sport or Eibach/bilstein sport... Your comment please... Thanks for your inputs.

ahha!!!....i'm having it at the rear. yup! only belakang.

err...pretty stiff ride, handling....:15:...can la w/out brakes at 85km/h...

i'll let you try when i'm in bentong soon!:top:

just last month changing 4 set of my absober..
a set of standard BOGE.. .enaugh la..
for now sourcing an eibach set to lower down my rocket launcher (since front dongak gila2).. heheh
handling currently (standard spring with new standard shock)
can la.. at 85/90/100 km/h at Jeli-Grik highway..

I am all ears... :)

Currently ride like a sampan in the rough sea...

TongS, what's your setup @ the front??

had eibach streetline + bilstein std (had to cut off the absorber "batang" shorter for the rear) and found it a little bit too stiff.

recently changed the absorbers to Boge standard, the ride is much more comfortable but found the handling a bit less confident.

willy5,

what color are those bilsteins? yellow? sport? can I have the part number please..

Thanks.

i got no idea, but most probably std....

oh ya! my bilstein are yellow HD.

Hi wan520i, sori don't have the part no. but these were black color Bilsteins so they are not sport just the standard issue. Note that you for the rear absorbers, it is recommended that you cut off the rod and remachine the threads coz it's too long for the Eibach springs. Front is OK. Otherwise every time you jack up the rear end of the car you need to reposition the spring properly on the spring seat as the car is lowered. Although, it does not dislocate under normal use. so no rallying allowed here hee... hee. Also do not install the bump stops (the rubber bushes on the absorber rod) as this will make the travel too short and your car will be bouncing off the bumps stops and become very bumpy.
I believe this is true for the yellow Bilsteins as well, anyone care to confirm this?

willy5, Thanks for the tips! you mean do not install bump stop at rear or front? or both side?About rear springs dislocate, yes I have that issue on my car, tot wrong springs were installed..hehe..., did you cut & re-thread your rear abs?

wan.....got for the b8's. u wont regret it la. with spring combo i'm not sure la, but i'm using sachs spring. and some ppl commented its a softer spring as compared to H&R and eibach. but on fast corners, still ok, just a tad bit of twitching.

willy....i think i'm using bumpstops on my ride. but so far no bottoming out yet, coz the abs are already hard. but i'm now curios if ppl dun use bumpstops for short springs and b8 setups...

I have standard boge on my car and sent them to a workshop to have them stiffen at 30%. Cost me RM75 each but feels like a thousand bucks! Money well spent!

I think what he did is "injection"..., drill a hole & top-up some oils..hehe..

i'm running with all round koni (soft, hard)+RD springs,i was using boge before this and previuosly bilstien black with the existing RDs.

All i could say that its somewhere 35-50% stiffer than the black shocks, good handling and very agile for a big fat car.......u can really feel the difference when u launch the car........:burnout:

Hi Longan. Mariff32 here. I have a 525 E34 vanos, just to intro myself. I have a set of Eibach spring pro-sports. Want-a-trade. They are only 8mths old and in excellant condition. PM me if interested.

wan520, No bump stops at all, and no problems with bottoming out. Initially the bump stops were intalled and car was boucing all over escpecially on uneven roads and that's like most of KL hee heee..

oh another thing, i vaguely remember reading somewhere that Bilsteins have their bumpstops built inside the absorber already.

willy5....is this true? u running on what springs n shocks? so with no bumpstops, u're not bottoming out ar? coz now on highway, sometimes a bit bouncy, but that one due to road undulation la....
