dear all sifu..i view an e34 today...the interior of the car was superb...exterior is just normal wear n tear.how ever the owner hitsomething yesterday and break the front bumper...please see the below attachmentthe white color patch is the placewhich the bumper is brokeneven the lower lip is brokendo i need to change the whole bumper?thankz

if you have the broken parts... you can fix it back.. as the mudguard guys will reattach it.. did mine 6 months ago... went to a friend's house living in a condominium.. parked my car at the visitors parking. and when i came back, part of my car's rear bumper was shattered, and it broke the top right mounting. so it was dangling on the right side. i collected all the debris, gave it to the mudguard guys. Voila. rm300 for reattached the broken bumper debris (like jigsaw puzzle)+put enforcement fibre glass on it+sanding+paint, at the damaged area.

and as for your case, it's at the lower part of the bumper. so it's easier to just install a lip spoiler there, to cover the missing part. but if you're going for the cheap way, you can do like what i did as long as you have the missing joint.

Oo...

but the problem is the broken parts are missing,
can i buy the lip spoiler separately ?
i look at those guys selling chop shop parts
also they sell the whole bumper...

thankz bro..

yeah you can buy it separately... there's this one bodykit shop 'bawah pokok' in ss19 subang jaya. well known for bmw bodykits and also other makes. they do sell lip/front bumper spoiler. the shop is literally under a tree.

Slightly off-topic, but if the car you're considering comes with a rear sun-shade, check that it works. Not a deal-breaker it it doesn't, but it is one extra thing to replace (and it's one those things which tend to spoil if they're not used).

thankz bro,

i think i saw the posting on the forum..
the shop name is Thevan something right ?

bro sen, the car i view dont have rear sun-shade.

thankz

Hehe, this is a good chance to add skirting to the bumper, whether AC,BBS, M-tech, Zender, etc. Don't worry, last time I hit my bumper and 1 piece broken still can be repaired.

Basically, any paint shop can do such repair, cause it's an easy job... but it's hard to find one who's willing to do it. For reason I don't know why, many refuse to do so when I enquire paint shops in Subang Jaya the last time.

Even the famous Theva Bawah Pokok, in SS19 Subang Jaya refuse to do it, and insist me to buy a new rm550 bumper from him. Since I know this could be done, I scouted further (still in SS19), till I came across this shop called "AH WAI MASTER EXHAUST AND MAGAT". Just 50 meters away from Theva Bawah Pokok.

So that was where I had my rear bumper fixed. Ah Wai is a nice chap, make sure you get your quotation from him and not his wife. There's a reason why people call their wife as Home Minister. Ah Wai's wife can be classified as exhibit A.
