wah.....1 year without a/c aaaa......

my blower koyak'd about 4 years back and i got a 2nd hand one fitted at rm140.for a motor, what matters is the carbon brush and the commutator surface condition(bearings as well of crs) and for this blower you can actually see these guys.

mine's workin fine since....diy...2/3 leisure hrs tops :D

dat naidu guy said dat d brush n commutator can b repaired but it would make some noise after some time..do u face d mentioned problem o isit jus some 'business politics'?

Guys, i feel really stupid but i think my blower was at least a thousand fitted

i changed the blower c/b few years ago (cant remember now but i think got 4 pcs of them) wit total cost of

errr i didnt change the kemutator. i wud if i got the replacement part here but not all parts in bulehland is available for sale lar.. in us/europe they do sell kemutator parts as replacement.

yea its a diy job. what i did was i removed the old c/b from the housing. and bring the c/b to the spare part shops for comparison. the shape of the c/b for the blower is square, so easier to get replacement as compare to my aux fan wic has funny rectangular shape wic very difficult/impossible to get. the c/b has 2 type of material, hard n soft. the black one is softer than the other one. the oe i replaced is harder type, wic making screeching sound when hot.

oso good idea to clean the fins while ur there.

good luck :eek:k:

ok... yeah i opened it up last time since the motor was making some squeeking sound intermittently. it's working perfectly but i think the brushes have either gone bad or it's the hard type. i just want to get rid of the sound. a dab of electrical grease seems to work for a couple of weeks but now the sound is back.

any tips?

was it ur blower or compressor replaced?it's kinda unreasonable for d blower fitted at 1000++

any advise?thinkin o getting it fixed durin tis weeken..if 350 is good enuf then wil have it done most proly tis sat..any sifus out ther?mebbe anybody knows any other place offering d ac blower?

ahhh.. the e34 air-con blower... to change, must remove the dashboard, etc.. put in sealant, gasket and foam/sponge gasket( must make your own- bmw original RM375 !!)

as for the motor, it's a good price if all of the labour, fixing and gas is included.

my opinion, go and get it done. er... if you are doing it, check all your small motors, air vanes, and the seals.. you don't want to open it up again. make sure naidu connects all the cables for your leg, front and windscreen dials..

regards.

actually the blower motor is accessed thru the engine bay. remove the flat metal panel (above the 1st cylinder) on the firewall. 4 bolts i think. then there is a plastic cover. the blower assembly is behind this black plastic cover. it's easier than having to take out the whole dashboard. thats what i did at least. 30 minutes tops.

naza2,is ur blower stil makin those screechin sounds?was it a result o replacin d c/b o it jus came by itself..

n yeah,it's easier to access d blower via d engine bay..jus askin for pricewise wheteher d diff is big between diy repair n new ones..if can get it into workin jus by diy then y not,can save me a few bucks n go for other things..

err, skinhead,is ur blower workin fine now?does d screechin occcur often?

the cause of lack air flow to the vent could be attributted to the following:-

1. chocked filter if all outlet vents are affected
2. if only one or two vents are affected then the A/C duct from the blower have been dislocated.
