Square light conversion was an aftermarket item, popular in the 80's...
It's a personal thing, either u love it (for rarity or quirkiness) or hate it (for non-original or quirkiness)...

As for the car, nothing much else to say without knowing what's under the hood.

This internet age there are lot of things that you can do to "feel different" and putting ugly ass square lights on otherwise looks nice e30 is not one of them.

Kamei made it back in the 80's and it made to the world's ugliest after market car part ever list, infact it came in #1. Why do you think Kamei is no longer in business?
