Anyone know or experian before how to open the glass lence cover(E30) to instal the angle eye kit ? and also recover back with what type of material glue . thanks!!

yo kenny,

i think there's a tread somewhere here that has what you're looking for. My experience with opening up the lights is that 'opening' works if both your lamps are made of metal. If not, you're spoil the lights....

you can try using a heat gun to remove the lense but becarefull you might spoil the reflector

Calling tyke, you've been treatening to learn how to do this, so have you learnt how to open the lamps, if soo pls teach the rest of us...........

the glass can be removed , i am working on hella smoke style for the headlights, its just a question of how much heat to apply.....too much and the reflector will bubble up and discolour or crack. Then you would have to spend more money getting it recoated.

personally i think the angel eyes dont suit the e30.

thanks to all of you!! I have just receive the kit, If done wil post pic to share with your. ha..ha..hope before new year.. :D

wau.... looks good....but the angel eye should be litter bit more brighter...

kennytey,

Get the CCFL ring is better.

Don't make angel eyes too big... it looks weird.

just make it like E39.. slurp slurp...

I've tried remove the lens by using hot air gun.

perhaps the heat are too strong cause bubble transform on my reflector .

do let me know if u keen to try it or need any info..

I've tried and I failed.... dun try. Keep it original la.

btw,its called Angel eyes....

U not patient enough... :p :p u only spend on your engine.. :) :)

but sometimes think about it wasting time on such things better buy one complete set much more better... wasting time and energy... ya i'm impatient too... :D :D

I finally opened up mine over the weekend. Had to set my hot-air gun to over 650 degrees. I'm not going for the angle eye look, just going to smoke mine and i suppose the hard part is done. I also found the high temp silicon needed to seal back the lamps once i'm done.

Question, went to afew hardware shops lookinng for glass polish to remove the pits from my glass lenses and was told that i can use brasso or autosol, anyone tried this before?

If da pits on ur lenses r s deep as my ride's, I wouldn't believ 4 1 sec da blokes at da hardware & not even if they recommended 'Jif' -wher can laa, Charlie boy.

In da meantime here's a copy of what anudder forumer's reply to a q on 'sandblasting' & its effect on glass, liv & learn dude...

"...sandblasted glass wordings can't be easily removed. glass has a hardness rating of 7+ and any material with that number can only be polish or cut with something harder say a ruby or diamond.

for this reason, the only way of removing it would be using a industrial or jewelry grade gemstone polisher which is only commonly available to jewelry manufacturers. not something that's easy to comeby. hence the security of sandblasting the glass in the first place..." :)
