Hi Guys,Need a diagnosis from you panel of experts out there... my e30 manual is having idling problems for quite a while. Somehow after i get it adjusted, it will come back again. When the car is idle, sometimes especially in the morning, it's like its breathing. The speedometer (the one on the right) goes up and down on its own.... i dont really know how to describe it actually.. Do you guys encounter any problems when you are driving in a jam? does the engine die off by itself when you are slowing down?? or is it jsut my lousy driving skills ah?? please help..

u're referring to the tachometer....

It could be the Idle Control Valve giving the problem. Maybe have it cleaned by the mechanic...

oso check the air hoses, could have sprung a leak.

btw, welcome...are you the same pakupakis from the old forum?

shud be the same one lah.... Who else would use paku-pakis lah???

yeah, and driving e30 somemore.

for idling problem can be many problems. Is your idling problem bad untill it dies off when you drive, when u turn on aircon or when you are stationary.

need to diagnose.

I have a spare hose, icv, bellow and etc etc which can probably help to cure.

but before you do anything, bring to the mech or bring it to us to have a look.

Also do note, b4 my m40 died. It was having idling problem too. It could be your engine.

helo guys... how are you all? havent seen you guys for a long time.. yes, it's the same pakupakis.. and the same e30.

pls dont tell me my car's going to die... :( it's still in good condition, just need a coat of paint badly tho. anywhere you guys can recommend ah, for a good paint job?

the engine does die off or like want to die off when i am driving sometimes.. esply when i am going slow. And sometimes when i turn corners its like it's going off too.

the mechanic has cleaned it for me before but the problem came back.

Wld be great if you guys can have a look... :) really appreciate it.. :)

just change my rubber bellow yesterday and it solved my idling problem. :)

Just make sure all your vacumn hoses are secure tight. BMW engines do not tolarate even slightest air leak.

I have the same problem b4.
DIY.. Clean Airflow Meter, All related host, IDLE Valve, fine tune engine.
And now.. its vrommm... vrommmmm... vrommmmmmm... :yahoo:
