Can the sifus here shed some light on this model? For that price just go for it la...it looks spanking solid man!!!! The only E30 Evo I know off is a M3....this surely aint it...and if it is, I think its missing a zero in front......

There is a Malaysia-only 318i Evolution edition towards the end of the production for the E30.... Engine is the usual M40. I think got sport suspension, Bumi Fiber MTec 2 bodykits and Ronal 15" rims... If I'm not wrong, it's additional RM15k or was it RM20k for the 'performance' package.... Fireblade owns one of them... I think there are few here who have one as well...

The 'richer' consumers were suckers for anything 'Limited Edition' mah and it still applies today...

it was actually only sold in australia...very limited run as to commemorate the victorious jps 635csi team....it came as a standard 323i with some sporty options, recaros, body covered with decals and logos of jps in gold plus gold bbs rims and a very ugly rear plate filler

No la... it was a joint marketing stratergy by AB and EKS to provide a 'model' for the local boys here under the word 'Evolution' with the make-up and performance level of the e30.. to introduce a final 'soup up' e30 318i before the arrival of the e36 line up in 1992...

In order AB to sell of the last batch of e30's la, so they(AB) dressed it up to sell...but AB could have got the German guys to do it, but the costs would have been very high past the RM89k mark..so they did locally... not bad for that time...but i think BWM did not allow the word "Msport" to be used, cos the only given for the e30 325i/325is line up..so this word 'Evolution' came up with a badge and car numbering only in malaysia... not bad huh.. cos we have our own malaysian limited edition models like South Africa...

it sold out quite quickly if i remember correctly....by 1992 they were clearing the balance of the m40s which were not many already as they were preparing to get the e36s on the road...
