E 36 328I problem with my auto tranny.

Hi sifus/all,Recently having problem with my auto tranny. When hard acceleration from idling position to 2500rpm(1st gear), seem like the gear not engaged properly. Can hear sound 'DEGEDEGcrdokkfhg' and the dashboard vibrating like hell. But when normal acceleration(slowly acce. up to 1500rpm), i dont encounter the problem. Same to the rest of gear changing, smoothly.Then i sent it to mtech bmw workshop for diagnos, the mech said..gear oil is ok and confirm gear box need to overhaul or replaced..cost within rm2500~3500.I think to change the gear oil/filter first..then if the problem still exist..then have no choice..go as the mech. advice.Any of members here having the same problem before?. Kindly advice..Tq.G

RM3500 is not small money..If i was u, i will send to another workshop for 2nd opinion.

U confirm the dashboard vibrate, not the body? A kaput long shaft coupling will cause the car vibrate like hell too when u accelerate from standstill.
