Dear forumers,just want to share my very first experience of long distanse driving udm emmmm.. :rolleyes: how should i put this?.......ok, read this :D !some facts:- sbn toll (7:45am) --> juru toll (11.15am) - 1 stop 10min.... - car load (3 adults, 2 kids).. - speed ranging (140km/h - 160km/h)..... - max speed 190++ for only few sec...... :blush: - est fc.....rm80 (sbn - kulim town).. rm30 (pusing2 kg)... rm40 (kg - alor setar)... rm80 (alor setar - tapah) rm35 (tapah - sbn)..................gilor.. :eek: .. :( - still bout fc - rm80 (can go up for 420km)- disturbed by rear tyre noise ...sssss .. :angry:..- steering handling not so satisfy...gripped two hand when reach 160++km/h..how to solve?.. .

at that speed..shouldn't u be driving with 2 hands?

applied 'S' mode from sg buloh - kampar...fckin suck my petrol

There is of course a price to pay for the extra 'fun' by playing with the petrol 'S'ucking mode...:D

328i brother should'nt complain but those little things get our sifus to help you... so now you are back to State Nine kah. mana ada TT Seremban when you are not here and Saturday I was in KL with familly shopping for chinese new year.

RM 0.20 per kilometer is a average for my car
I can get RM 0.16 per kilometer if i cruise at 110 to 130 km/h on highway
Get RM 0.20 if i cruise at 160 to 220 km/h on highway.

Is a nice ride... :D but petrol .......wahlau ehhh.
But I never try S mode on highway before.
 
When you are already in final gear 'S'uxker mode will not bring you any joy....
 
You didn't seem to pull what I think is a bit of a shocker (it was to me the first time round). On 'S' mode, floor it all the way from 100km/h, and just wait and see at what speed you'll change up to 4th. Never fails to impress!

Yeah, get a full tank before you do it. The last time I had a full-on blast (yes, one saman ekor, but on the way back) I was about 20km from JB when the tank showed empty. Had to limp into town!
 
:D when u drive a 2.8 litre car i think u shud expect a reasonably highish FC especially when u floor it..
to me the trade off is well worth it considering the turn of speed that u've enjoyed.
remembered the first time i floored a 328i e36 on the KLIA highway(just newly opened that time)..saw the smile on my friend's face(drives a civic B16a) when the speedo surged towards 240kph without any signs of slowing!! by the time we got to KLIA we had to refuel to continue..
super nice car and in the right hands it can give any TypeRs or Evos a good run for their money. :nyehehe:
 
Check ur tires.... last time i i had the same problems with u ... when goes to high speed then tires wobbling & steering vibrating...
end up found out the tires going to pregnant... :D :D

advise... don't over fill tires pressure dude...

Smoke accord ??? good & of coz la.. if not no body dare to buy 328o la..

S mode suck1ng petrol ?? of coz la... Power don't come cheap ma... :p

Strange.. my 'friend's 328i ran out of breath at 220kph (speedo)... he has a E46 328i with a 5speed auto... 4th gear touches 200kph before switching to 5th .. and then it crawls to 220kph before terminal....

is this normal ?
 
Oooh....I'm sure schone's friend would have pressed beyond the detent / stepper...
 
guys my parents 528i 1999 model can do 235km plus... no problem...i am sure 328i can do 240..... easy.... by the way since i am collecting my 328ci this week............... was wondering if any one want to have friendly race..... use to race after 1 am... highway to subang to klia then sometimes klia to nilai..... superb road to test top speed ...uses to race wit my alfa buddys there.... so far two cars coming....an alfa 156 2.5 v6 auto and my 328ci...dont worry i am a very mature person.... :D .. just love the need for speed. thanks.
 
Guys..public road are not for race :getyourfactsright: If you wanna race go to track.

:) agreed..safety first!! i think doing an average of 150kph wud be just about right considering that he was driving a 328i plus the design of the highway.

there are some places between KL and Penang where u can stretch the engine a bit provided traffic conditions allows.. safety is relative taking into account several factors.

end of the day,common sense shud prevail and its all about using ur brains.bimmers are very good cars designed for highspeed driving(among others) and the speeds that Mienoz did was i think normal for KL Penang.. provided he knows where to speed and also know the limits of the car.

a bit dissapointed when knowing most 2.8 buddies can floored up to 220++ kph no doubt.... can snap a shot of speedometer with hp somemore!! :p :p :p

so for ride stability @ max torque, beside wobbling tyres factor, what else?.... is it 'car height'?
mine with 17", stock spring & abs!.... is it true stock abs is soft? coz my car a bit swaying on bumpy road condition.

how bout wheel bushes type? fren said when used M3 bushes can feel a diff on handling....is it true?

sifus, appreciate your input on what is the "best setting"...std or modified for stabil yet comfort ride at high speed....thanx. B)
 
:D go for eibach springs and anti-roll bars..that shud do the trick.maintain ur original absorbers.try that first..worked for me so far.
improved handling plus good comfort.

about those wobbling tyres/rims..maybe its just a simple case of balancing.maybe it wasn't balanced correctly by the tyre shop.what tyres are u using?

try find a good tyre shop that can do proper and good balancing..ask around.
