I've noticed 3 of my door near window got stupid "NGEK NGEK NGEK" sounds, whenever i was running on uneven road. I tried apply rubber oil 3 times to all the rubber, but only last 1 or 2 days. On the door side, there are 2 different rubber that cover the whole door and few plastic too. Now im totally lost , cant figure out which part exactly causing that irritating sound. Hope all the sifu can really help me out on this matter.-E46 2.0 6 cyclinder Japan specs.Perry 016-6666160

Salut

Hi.....this is, sigh, normal for a lot of Bimmers. If you look at the 3Series Forum, you'll see a few threads that exist and have been discussed to death, on your noise issues.

I have had my door seals changed, teflon tape applied on parts of the shadowline that come in contact with the felt and rubber. Had the doors retorqued. All in vain, the solutions, if you can actually call them that, were temporary....so don't get your hopes terribly high.

I have taken to spraying Silicon on the linings. If that's what you choose to don't just get hold of any old can of spray....the one that is widely used by a lot of roundrel and three-pointed star owners is the one from Germany...."Wurth". A bit pricey but a lil goes a long way.

I think perry problem is slight different from the E9X series..

His window got sound when fully closed but when window wind down bit, sound gone..

I think its your rubber, try to put some oil on the rubber which in contact with your window, that should solve the problem, I had the same prob, but now, ok oredi

Not only 3 Series but 5 Series face the same problem... the Teflon Tape should fix the problem once and for all... a few places can actually rectify it including Auto Bavaria.

Not sure if can apply on car too hehehe.

I think after certain time BMW will create noise due tight fitment of parts. I've experience them wt E36,E46 & E39. I suggest take the car to an expert to open the door card & check everything from clips to rubber & even power window regulator. That what I did on all my old junk BMW. At least no irritating sound except six pots engine roar, my sound system & uhh ahh sound from the driver:smokin:

apply the rubber grease on the rubber that touches the gutter when u close your door, that is the only part u need to apply.

hello guys..

actually it is not the rubber, it is the carpeted part at the top of the door panel. AB suggested using BMW Carfablo product and spray it to the carpet. I just buy RM12 silicon spray and spray it to the carpeted door part and walla..it is gone, not it has been 3 month, still no noise. Reminder...don't spray at the rubber part...

To be honest, the problem is probably with the hardened rubber of the run channel. It happens to my Honda Accord as well. I've tried using silicon spray but with no avail. I ended up changing the whole run channel and that fixed the problem :) Run channel is the rubber that is around the window all the way to the door. Malaysia's weather is too hot I guess.

Had mine sprayed with a silicone spray, cant remember the brand but it was RM35/can, dont buy cheap 1 as its useless and wont sustain. Sprayed on the rubber parts both on the door and body for 3 days in a row and that irritating noise is gone now, its been almost 2 months now and hopefully this works forever.

There's this teflon spray available in the market now. Probably works better than silicon spray. I bought one at Ace Hardware. 20 plus ringgit if I recall.

Had the same problem on my E39 when I took delivery, but my mechanic sorted it out with what he called "Body Sealant Tape". RM300 for all 4 doors. No more squeaking noises! ;)
