No service book for F30. Only onboard iDrive record.

That was one of the first thing the salesperson told me - There is no more service booklet.

Some other questions all bros.

1. I can't find any booklet stated the service interval for engine oil, ATF and etc. is it all depends on the I drive vehicle information ?

2. According to my SA the engine service interval is 12000KM. Assuming from 0 milleage, What if I change the engine oil at every 6000KM will the i drive still prompt me for service at 12000KM? Cos according to my understanding from the booklet that the service interval is based on the sensors reading on the oil condition.

3. Why I always need to use the controller to open the boot when I m out of the car even though I dint on the alarm?

Tqvm

Your car OBC counter will indicate to you when you are supposed to send in your car for service, set usually between 12,000-13,000 km. Each service at those intervals are covered under BSRI (for 3 years or 60,000km) and will only involve only a change of engine oil and oil filter. If you so decide to do an in-between BSRI oil change, you can do so but at your own expense (Many of us do so, if you must know). You can request the service centre not to reset the counter on your OBC during those "unscheduled" oil change. ATF supposed to be life-time so they won't change for you. If you want to do so it will be at your own cost. Like wise for other parts, it will only be changed (if still under BSRI period) if there is a noticeable and identifiable problem emanating from that particular faulty part.

If your car unlocking setting has bee set to open all doors on the first press of the remote button, then your boot should also be unlocked and you should be able to manually lift open the boot. However if your unlocking setting is set to such a way that only the front driver door is unlocked on the first press of the remote button and all doors to unlock on the second press, then your boot will not be unlocked on the first press but only on the second.

Thanks a lot C-square. I would like to change my engine oil every 6000 KM and ATF every 20,000KM.

No worries, mate. Changing engine oil midway, say between 6000km to 7000km is a good idea as the service interval of 13,000km according to the OBC counter appears to be too long given our hot, humid and sometimes dusty weather. However, I don't know about others but I do think changing the ATF (which is supposed to be "life-time") every 20,000km is a tad too extreme. With my previous e36, I did my ATF flush and change at 100,000km and the gearbox still felt ok. Anyway, that's just me take....to each his own, so just do as you deem appropriate.

hi all,

the Service Advisor told me, there was a problem reported everywhere whenever you changed the ATF, sooner the GB will have a problem, so he advised me dont change coz, it's "Lifetime"
