6 potter springs are a bit stiffer in the front, to compensate for the 6-cyl engine's extra weight. If you install the wrong set, your car won't be level. ID by part number/codes on the springs, or by looking at the donor car.

thanx for d info..actually m abit confused.mine is actualy d 320 body but d previous owner cnvert it to m40 n i notice dat my rear is higher.is dis nrmal?coz im thinkin of lowerin my ride abit mre bt d ting is im satisfied wit my frnt height.n also m x sure wat low springs spec m i using currently which was fitted by d previous owner..so dats y i askd hw to identify if its d m40 or m20.

Hi there..i don't think converting the engine could make your rear end high, I don't really know, but m40 is a lighter engine, so it cannot make your car 'terjongket'...

its 1984 bro..but it seems dat d rear is alot higher than d other e30s dat iv noticed..jz wud like to hav d low look..plz bear in mind dat nw i am currently on low springs.its standard low,wana make it street low,not super lowrider.
The rear spring for 4 pots & 6 pots will be the same. Only front is different to compensate heavier 6 pots engine. One probability is that yr rear is still using standard set up. The best is to get a mech to take it out.
