Due to my own stupidity, I over parked my car and caused the bumper to go on the sidewalk gravel. The damage is minimal, and not so obvious as it is beneath the bumper but still visible to people who walk by. The car is only a week old, imagine the pain. How do I fix this? Should I bring this to a paintwork shop, or just a normal polish and wax shop. It looks pretty bad, very deep blunt scratches.Sorry for my ignorance. This is actually the first time it has happened to me since I had my license.

Crap, that is painful. Ouch! New car somemore. Feel sorry for you bro.

i think u better go to paintshop. the scratch is too deep to be repaired by polish and wax alone.

Neko! First, swirl marks a la el cheapo car wash. And now this??! Aiyoh. 'Tee Kong! Sim Tia La"(Good Lord. Heartache!)

Better get it sprayed.

Dont feel to much bro..it has already happened and its small...just bring ur car to AB and they will have their approved spray and knock shop...their job is up to quality and only charge around 20% above outside spray shop..

I agree with VKS... go get it done at AB before u regret bro... cheers.. i spray my car every 3 mths bro... its normal ma..

Thanks bros. Now I know I'm not the only one who's suffered the pain. It's been 5 hours, I cannot forget about it, and it hurts like how love hurts. Feck, I feel so stupid.

Will probably drive to AB and get it done there.

How much do you guys think it will cost? I hope not more than RM300

Will be less the RM300 one la...to knock and spray the whole bumper on my friend's E90 took about RM280 and it was AB penang..

Anyway do share the price after you have done it and where you did it...maybe will be usefull in future...Can know market value ma..

aiyo, you should see my car first. then you will know how deep i'm suffering with it. wuwu, go clean it up, baru puas hati. hehe. btw which bmw do u drive?

That looks like an E90 LCI.. normal lar. U do it back, it will return anyway. What piss me off is every time I wash car, the scar would hold back my washing cloth like want to tear my cloth. Very irritating!

A Hamann lip would elegantly solve your problem..

Ha... scratches like that are normal lah.. My car also kena after 6months.. first time sakit hati, second time felt a bit less sakit.. and so on. Then after 2 years, respray and it's like new. Just keep a budget for periodic respraying of inevitable scratches like those. :)

I am sending it to Quill automobiles tomorrow! Once I've got it fixed, will update you guys on the quality of service and price charged.

And probably after that, will drive to Ecotint Shoppe to set for an appt. Will probably opt for the Ray Barrier.

Anyone have a good experience with Ray Barrier?

Poison Alert....

Update #1 Went to Quill Automobiles this morning. Apparently slots are full and they told me to come back on Monday. Estimated repairs approx. RM200. They will drive my car to one of the authorised workshops for knock and paint. Not to mention also I will have to leave my car with them for 2 days.

neko,

my 325i LCI is using ecotint ray barrier. Personally my opinion, very good film, same quality as VKool but Ecotint is cheaper. I know bcos my wife's VW GTi uses VKool. Actutally does a great job blocking out UV and heat. So even if u park under the sun for 1 or 2 hrs, its hot inside but not burning-your-skin type of feeling. Warranty for 5 yrs against any peeling or air bubbles. Cost abt RM1800 for whole car...i think!

cheers.

gilajazz,

Which color of the tint looks nicer? Ray Barrier or VKool

Also, what color is your 325LCI?

I'm having Black Sapphire on a 323LCI.

neko,

when i look at my wife's VW GTi on Vkool & my BMW 325i LCI on Ecotint Ray Barrier, they look the same to me. Both look great & very high end. Not like some cheap window tint shit that looks greenish fr outside and damn shiny that u can't even see inside to the driver. Now CNY cari makan time, sure kena fine at road blocks with those cheap tint! Mine is same color as yrs! I did mine at eotint subang USJ. Look for my friend there call Mr. Chan & tell him ur my friend, maybe he can give u a bit more discount? Call me if ur goin, maybe we can meet for yumcha, and u can see how it looks on my car!
