chat option

to the president n moderator, i'm just wondering if putting chat option in this forum would be a good idea?so that, we can have an option to chat with our members in this forum.....for eg, u can look at the v-sixers forum. they have chat option where members can chat to each other ( just like irc lah). i find that very helpful.........hope u can consider about it......thankx..

Yes, I also think that perhaps a chat room may b useful to reduce hijacking & cluttering of personal messages/ conversations in the individual forum threads.

Yes point agreed however I think maybe forumers need chat option & they also need to b enlightened & supervised on proper forum usage.
And yes I kno, this only makes more work for moderators but is keeping it status quo a satisfying solution for all parties?
Maybe 2006 club committee can find solution.

yeps, suggested dis feature twice in the past UNREPLIED. but verbally i wuz told somewat like wat mr fabian has replied. not gd fer future tech reference. n also mayb less posting then.

but then gain, mayb we cld hev a pilot project n c how it goes on 1-month trial period perhaps?

thankx for the replies. come on, chat option is not only for discussing about info n tech knowledge. open minded sikit lah. sometimes, we get into the website in the middle of the night, get so bored, at least we can chat with somebody else. we can talk kok, meet new friends, discuss about small matters n etc. sometimes, our forumers never attend the tt, maybe they are busy, at least we can know them thru chat option.

this chat option has nothing to do with 'less posting then'....... posting is posting, chat is chat..... 2 different things...... otherwise, we shouldn't do tt also coz it will also lead to less posting. how about we just discuss everything in the net n not to meet at all in real life........

anyway, at the end of the day, it is just my suggestion. it's up to the moderator/president to do it or not.........

All points noted. This will be one of the key discussion issues in the next committee and administration team meeting. I hope you are aware that it's not just a forum/club issue. It has got a technical element in it. So we have to explore the feasibility and if we have sufficient financial backing to execute this.

the purposes of chat room is chat. Most of the contents would most probably be non technical. hence would not loose the knowledge. :wink:
