If choked, can clean? How long does it last, normally? Or how often need to change?
i don't think it could be clean, i never tried b4, let me know if it works.

according to the guide is once in 2 service interval, eg. Inspection 1 & 2

it depends how often you want to change it :)

got it from Stuttgart for RM165. It has dark spot on the filter. Dont see much difference with the normal one for its function except the air ventilation inside is better and cooler. Maybe my old one really choked until cannot nafas. Thats why. Otherwise my suggetion would be to go for normal ones which cost RM130. CHEERS

charcoal filter have the property to absorb dampness smell.

To change is quite easy but you have to break the filter into 3 pieces without tearing the filter. This is because the filter is located just beside the steering column for right hand car. the steering column block the filter from being inserted in or extract out. so that why you have to break the plastic holder to fold the filter. For left car, the filter is not obstructed for obvious reason.

If have to break to take out, how to put new one in? BTW, where's the holder located? Engine compartment or under steering column in car itself?

{Pardon ignorance, not a very technical person la! Sorry!}

not sure for e36, maybe jarance is right but for e46, its at the engine compartment. Its inside the engine compartment. Its easy to change and u can do it within minutes and no need to break the filter. CHEERS>>>>

Sorry, I was referring to an E36 not an E46..

you don't need to change it often.. just every 40k or 60k kms..
depending on the enviroment you are in...incase kampung or construction site.. can also look and see if very dirty..

So basically just unscrew and remove cover, then replace? Under bonnet near wiper assembly?
