Dear Sifus,my car shakes during idling. engine cold or warmed up, still shakes. its a M20B20 E30. to add, last 2 weeks my father had changed the spark plugs and cabels as the car was jerking. he changed it as was advised by his mechanic (not a bmw specialist) and was charged rm550 for cabels and rm40 for plugs :frown:.could have gotten it 1/2 price if i go chop shop.however, the car still has slight jerk from initial acceleration. alas, the car does not have power to accelerate especially to go after traffic stop.can anyone help me shed a light on solving this problem that im having.thanks!

i will check on those parts. engine & gear mounting has worn out according Opti kayu ara & was quoted about rm600 to replace.

however, i will service the spark plugs n check the cables first. then check AFM. is o2 & AFM the same?

Thanks Sifus!

Thanks Sifus!

O2 oxygen) sensor located at the exhaust manifold and AFM (Air Flow Meter) located somewhere after your airfilter; meaning that it is 2 different things

please make sure the spark plus is the original spec for your m20b20.

Take out the AFM and clean it up properly and make sure the "barn door" can open and close smoothly

o2 sensor, well, i just dont use it. although my fuel consumption is crazy, oh well, at least it solved the jerking.

my 2 cents

Chris

i think mus chg engine la.. haha

well all the sifus here oledi told u wat to do

Please check all rubber (air) hoses and vacumm tubes. Also check the rubber seal of your oil cap on the cam cover and the 'O' ring around the engine oil dipstick. The M20 engine must be airtight or else it will suffer from miserable idling.

ok will do check all the above mentioned by master sifus.
thanks.

i usually drive my e30 on weekends when i go back to my inlaws house. i use another car to go to work. & only on saturdays i get the chance to send the e30 for what ever repair if there's one like im having now.
