Hi,

Want to ask sifus advice here. I noticed when I park the car i.e. pull the hand brake and release the brake pedal, sometimes I notice the car will jerk forward when I release the brake pedal. What could be the cause of this? Is it indication to change brake pads? Is there an axle mounting or cover which could be the cause? Someone who drove the car told me that the axle mounting or cover (cant exactly remember coz was in a rush) needed to be changed when he was reversing the car.

Have you check your brake system especially the slave piston at the caliper?

When was the last time you change your brake fluid?

You should also check the thickness of your brake disc and brake pad.

Oh please check all the engine mounting, control arm bushing while you are checking the brake.

A visit to the workshop should be able to determine the root cause.

thx for the suggestions. will make a trip to the mechanic to check them.

so far, never really observed if i release the brake pedal slowly whether there is any difference. will check. but what i noticed recently if i am stuck at traffic light and i engage neutral and pull hand brake, i need to pull the hand brake quite high up to ensure the car doesn't slide if the car is on a minor slope. not sure if that is related to the same issue.
