http://www.uucmotorwerks.com/I have noticed from the forum that quite a few forummers UDM's are having UUC parts like the infamous UUC shoftshifter. For those that have the UUC stuff, did you order it online from their website?. Any problems with the shipping to here and clearing of customs?. How much does shipping cost approx? So anyone using the latest UUC Evo3 Shortshifter? It looks awesome. Just wondering if the new SS be less notchy with the better material used in its construction and it being height adjustable. Anyone got experience on it and would like to share with us all?.

IMHO, it's probably cheaper to fabricate your own shortshifter. if you want to go into details, you can calculate the force, travel distance etc and custom make it to your liking. for less than RM100 you can get yourself a set. made in bolehland.

Yeah I agree it will definately be cheaper to fabricate your own SS esp if you compare it to the first generation of SS avail in the market. With the new Evo3 SS from UUC, they made some big improvements like it being height adjustable and more importantly it now has a bearing pivot which should make the shifting a lot smoother.

The problem with SS especially really short one's (i.e the throw length) it can get pretty notchy. Have tried a few and u really need a lot more effort to change gears. So thats why was wondering if anyone on the forum have the new Evo SS so perhaps they can enlighten us on how much an improvement is the new model.

Anyway it has to be pretty good to justify the $1k+ price tag.

If I can remember reading in another thread that fab has managed to fabricate a ss for his ride???? :dunno:

I've ordered from the UUC website, they're very good. Ordered an item that only fit LHD cars, but only discovered as such when I tried to install it. A quick email to them and they agreed to refund me the full price (I pay for carriage, of course). Plus their products are quality.

Tks Necessary on the feedback. Just a few more queries if you don't mind, how much did the shipping cost ya and any problems with the parcel going thru customs at our end?. Not sure what you ordered but I assume it was a relatively small item?. BTW how long does the shipping take to reach our shores? Tks bro.

Whoops, sorry to mention, but I got everything shipped to Singapore. Actually got quite a few items from them, from as big as their cat back exhaust system (and the anti-roll bars) to pedals.

Shipping did cost quite a bit, around USD200 for the lot (I think, not sure), but they do ship via UPS/FedEx and takes bout 2 weeks (at the most) to reach.

As for shipping to Malaysia, I suggest you approach the workshop that you're most friendly with and ask if you can ship it to their address. Maybe they can even help you settle the duties, if they regularly import items themselves.

But this one very hard to engage gear la... especially in the morning...
this one comes with nylon insert so it reduces the friction. not a problem with my E30.
