BMW has always been my choice BUT I am now a total disappointed owner of X1which I owned for only 8 months. I have had 7 punctures and 2 tyres changed. The costs for my Cinturato Runflat tires weren't cheap as well. Now it makes me wonder whether thesetires are safe to use on my car but then these tires came together with mybrand new car. I am always a lone lady driver and I am very disturbed and doubting thequality and the feasibility of these tire on my car. Any idea WHY?????? :(

Sound like a sabotage to me.. u work at construction site? or travel through construction site a lot? Another suggestion is try fill the tyres with tyre patch resin which will "sumbat" all the punctures as it comes.. any idea what punctured the tyre? Puncture on the rolling surface or side wall?

Its customary for all newbie in the forum to provide a brief intro to other members here. Hope u can oblige..

The new runflat comes with warranty if they're found to be manufacturer's defect that caused your tyres to be puntured or changed. On top of that, do check the tyre's manufacturing date which is written on the sidewall as a 4 digit number. First 2 denotes week, last 2 denotes year. So if your new tyres were made more than 2 years ago when you first got them, I personally would not accept them and insist on at least anything that's less than a year old as rubber tends to harden through time if they're not used, thus rendering them a little less reliable.

I don't work in contruction site and i dont even go near a construction site. I'm a pharmacist working in a retail shop. The first puncture was caused by a nail. The rest were unknown as i was not told of the cause. After the 4th puncture, i was told to change a new tyre. A week later, another puncture sign came up. I sent the car in to the BM centre again with FRUSTRATION. They told me another tyre has to be changed for it is beyond repair. "I query them over the constant puncture. "It's all your luck, they said" Yeah, I am so LUCKY to have 7 punctures and 2 tyres changed in these 8 months. So, May i know what LUCK should i have to drive a BMW X1 ??? May I?

I've just checked my tyres, they were still new, Manufactured in 04/10. Are RunFlat tyres more fragile compare to the normal ones? I am very upset with the constant puncture, SIGH!

don't worry much ...just drive down ya ride to any of the TT's and you'll have some super duper wannabe mechanics@members to have a look at it ... most likely you'll find the answer to your constant puncture problem

I smell a rat as i had an x1 since aug10 had no tyre failure till now. same brand pirelli's. A sabotage very likely!!

Park your car where you can train a CCTV on it.......watch for the sabotager.....

what you need is this to zap the perpetrator!

..RFT's suck big time..my Z4 came with those installed and car was useless..idiotic vibrations, steering really weird (like you turn left or right, and you feel like someone grab the tire and pushing it opposite of direction you want, VERY hard)..i scrapped RFT's, installed nice tubeless tires+spare(recently) and never ever had single problem, car lost every single vibration ever existed (superfine, and no vibration of any kind when driving 200+, and before was how muc..100/110 and everything shakes idiotically)..if there is something i consider disgusting on BMW's, thats RFT's...google other international BMW forums, and you will see that huge majority of owners literally hate RFT's, from the use standpoint, performance as well as crappy price..in short, scrap your RFT's, install nice tubeless tires and enjoy your vehicle..

..as you can see here, its rather common, crappy thing from BMW, regardless car model..
