Howdy everyone!
I am a BMW Malaysia noob, but not a BMW noob.
I am an expat living and working in KL, and recently purchased my third BMW (first in Malaysia). The Malaysian BMW is a 2006 X5 3.0i. It's my first BMW in the X series, and I am quickly falling in love with it as I did with my other two Bimmers.
As for my other Bimmers, I first owned a 1994 BMW 318iC - what a simple and fun car that was. I loved that car, and sadly lost it in a divorce. My current US BMW is a 2001 E38 750iL. The V12 motor in that vehicle is nothing short of amazing! I don't get to drive her much anymore, but when I am home in the US, she fires right up and the love affair continues!
Without further adieu, I'll use the template stickied atop in this section to share a bit more about me. I look forward to learning more about and meeting y'all in due course!
I am a guy, and my photo is in my profile for those who really care to know. I live in PJ, and I am a professional pilot and photographer. On the flying side, I fly a privately owned jet so I don't have a regular schedule at all. On the photography side, I am a Nikon snob, but do truly believe in the old adage that the best camera out there is the one in your hands at the moment you need it. I shoot portraiture, travel, landscapes, street, and architecture . . . or whatever catches my fancy at that particular moment.
I looked up BMWCM on google when I was lining up to purchase my X5. Being a BMW owner in the US, I am well aware of the BMW Clubs and was pleased to see that one existed for Malaysia. The resources, the shared knowledge, and the camaraderie/networking all make the BMW Clubs worldwide, and I am sure in Malaysia, worth it and dare I say a true bargain!
As for my plans in the next few years, it's much the same as now - enjoy life, see and shoot the world, and drive!
I'll throw some shots up of my X5 when I can get her in a nice setting and great light - hmmmm . . . Cameron Highlands maybe . . .
All the best to everyone,
Chris
