Bro how did you remove the airbag???

Cucuk a screwdriver (I used a flat one) into the rubbery hole at the back of the steering left and right towards the centre of the steering column. Follow the direction of the hole. Dont cucuk towards you sitting on the driver's seat. Move the screwdriver slightly until you feel a springy action. Once you get that springy bit, just push the screwdriver in and the airbag pops out. Repeat on the other side.

Anything that you want to do with your BMW are mostly already available on the net. I am a newbie as well but I searched on the net to look for what I need.

Need to read a lot of forum discussion, mostly found through Google until you get your understanding and picks up the screwdriver/spanner/hammer and get the job done hehe

PA Soft 1.36 OBD Scanner

PA Soft Diagnostics OBD Scanner version 1.36..not the latest but this one is cheap and I think is enough for my purposes. Bought on ebay for £28. The latest version 1.4.0 costs around £135 so this'll do for now.

Haven't used it yet though because I need a USB to Serial adapter since my laptop doesnt have a serial connector. Have bought the adapter but waiting for it to arrive.

The first thing I'm going to do with this tool is to enable/unlock TV watching on the move, since at the moment the screen turns blue while watching TV and the car starts moving.

I got the USB to serial adapter for the diagnostics scanner today..but unfortunately having other problems. My research says that the scanner will only work in XP or below...and my laptop is running on Windows Vista which is not supported. The other thing is the scanner would only work on native serial port on the laptop and cannot use a usb adapter..where do you get a laptop with serial connector these days?

so I'm looking for an old used laptop for now..have requested online in a freecycle community..hopefully will be getting one soon.

Latest update:

Diagnostics Tool connection succeded! Borrowed a laptop from a friend that is running on Windows XP and it runs fine. No issue with the USB to Serial adapter...so actually the program does not support Vista but works fine in XP.

Now video on the move is enabled, will be able to watch the TV on the move (well I know its dangerous, but I wont watch it..mainly for the passagers)

So the next thing is to DIY the AV connection to allow Audio/Video input from a DVD player or my iPod..will update about that later.

Oh just to let you know the tool also allows you to change the odometer reading, change the unit from Miles to KM (which I have been researching for a while but have not find a good solution yet! Now got that feature, easily change to KM once i go back to Malaysia). And it also can do a service light reset.

There's a lot more use to it..but I dont actually know if its actually useful to check the running condition of the engine since its mostly deals only with the electronic stuff..

Got the part number 11121726089 for the engine hole cap.

Love it here, if I order any item in the morning usually the item will arrive at the dealership in the afternoon...quick delivery they have here. I even ordered a new replacement master key, it only took 2 days to arrive.
