BMW Club Malaysia Inaugural Annual Dinner

Dear all, The first meeting for the Inaugural Annual Dinner (IAD) Working Committee kicked off last night at Showru, Kelana Jaya. It was a good and fruitful meeting despite numerous distractions from PYTs (pretty young things) strutting past - much to the delight to some of our members (me included!) .... Anyway, back to the issue at hand, we are all very excited about this event. However in order to crunch out the many details involved such as venue, budget etc, we would need to know how many people are interested to come. This is just a preliminary "test-the-waters" survey but would be very helpful to us in planning the dinner. There will be another thread for REGISTRATION later.So, all you fellow members, forumers, UDMers, etc, etc (lurkers included - this is the time you introduce yourselves!), we need your help! Put down your names immediately if you are interested. If you are planning to bring your girlfriends, wives or children, kindly do indicate so. I praise and applaud the sub commitee that has come together to handle this event and see it through to fruition.

KUDOS! The initiative shown has been excellent so far!

I don't know about u guys but I see that there would be a big bunch who are actually doing the wait-n-see....

There's no date for now and no venue to state... To be fair, it's a chicken-and-egg situation. on 1 hand, the committee needs the number of people attending to bargain for good venue and the date. n the other hand, ppl are waiting for the date and venue. so how lah????????

so I think the organising commitee should decide for the number of pax now and straight to the phone to book a place and time. and maybe allow some room for extra sign ups...

and try to solicit some committal payment from those who signed up to attend. if u can't attend it due to emergency, u can 'sell' ur seats to other members.... Can't expect the organising commitee to fork up from their own pockets for the preparation and oso the booking fees for the venue...

As I understand it, F&B will usually ask for 50% down befor registering our booking & dat's a lotta moolah to b koffing out!

IMHO, It would help if the venue, date and cost is made known. It is quite difficult to decide when the three basic have not been decide.

In my past experience mit hotel setting, sit-down dining, excluding pre-dinner drinks, entertainment & music licensing... lowest cost on international cuisine & depending on which KL-PJ location -about RM55 - RM65 per head (2004).
If entertainment is to b featured, ve haff to look for ballroom mit least no. of columns.
