hi there jerman,

finish stock mean 520 will not have new stock anymore? discontinue model?
i found out that IPOH for 4 more brand new 520i but manufatured 2004 :( selling as brand new price. too bad ....

CBU mean from thailand or europe? thanks alot and appreciated ya help.

I remember AB took 200 520i from Thai. Those have grey interior. Yeah I think they have discontinue 520i. Those from Ipoh are old stocks. I would think CBU are from Germany.

yeah found out from my friend just now. he bought a 523 recently which is local brand new one but after few weeks, it has few tiny problem like those cup holder and few .... not serious problem. He asked me better look for import model which have better assemble..... is it true?

yeah he told me still able to find 4 units brand new 520 in Ipoh but manufactured 2004.

why 523 and 525 dun have import one? other models are so expensive. too bad :(
was thinking pre-owned but after reading "PublicBus" thread, i change my mind. would better save bullet, buy brand new one later ......

thanks for the replied tamade7 .....

Malaysia has a very small market so AB decides to assemble only the 523i and 525i. I hear from people that local assemble cars have a slightly lower quality on their plastics. Naza might be able to get a new 520i for you but for a premium price tho. If I am not mistaken the 520i was discontinue in 2005

but now new BMW got 3 year warranty ( i read it from Malaysia BMW website )

does Naza come with warranty ar? thx

Ha ha ha , i scared you off? :D :D :D
After the ordeal, my car is ok now (touch wood...). When I was at AB, chatted with a few owners of new bimmers there.... you would not want to hear the details or you will change your mind again.:p :p
So after more than a month owning one bimmer, and after talking to a few bimmers owner friends, I think I am a little unlucky. Most of my friends who bought pre-own did not have much problems... I think it is just like buying clone PCs, sometimes got lots of problems somtimes no problem even after a few years. Anyway, I have to tell you onething : go for the bigger cc ones that you can afford, you will not regret it.....
My next target E90 525 and above.... probably in 2008 :p :p :p

keeekeee,

Yes, I also agreed with publicbus, please go for bigger cc if you can afford cause you will feel the different. Eventhough CKD also not bad compare to CBU unit, cause all the parts are mostly from Germany. the only different is assemble in Malaysia and you could get it cheaper than CBU.

Cheers for your coming UDM !!!

Naza does come with warranty but I am not sure for how long. For me I prefer CKD or import baru just because the car's history is easier to check than import terpakai. Got a CKD 2001 520i and CKD 2000 328i this year and until now no problem at all. Maybe because both the car has low mileage 75k and 85k respectively.

so you still using bothe 520i and 328i ? internal space is 5 series abit bigger then 3 series right? i think 3 series is too small for me and my family. i am quite tall. i tried my friend's brand new 3 series , feeling tight. tat's why looking for 5 series now.

Dad is using 5 and I am using 3. Yeah I totally agree with you that the 5 is larger and more comfy. I am 5' 11" and the 5 really suits me.

I got a 520i in Nov 06. Its from Thailand and assembled in 2006. No complaint with QC. Comes with Pirelli P7 tyres and full spec except auto cruise. I think mine was the last unit from AB. As for power, its getting better as the milage is clocked up. Its a good cruiser.

really last unit? mind to tell me where did u purchased? in KL ? can tell me more abt it? thanks

keekee

I got mine from Sg Besi after checking with SB and Glenmarie. My budget was RM300k, hence the price was just right. If u have the capacity, I would recommend u to go for the higher power model as acceleration for the 520i may be a bit slow off the line. Once u are on the highway, its very relaxing. The handling is definitely better than the MB E200k. Any specific you want to know?

for slightly over RM300k can get second hand 525 MSport these days...check it out.

What is road tax for below 3000 cc compared to the maintenance of a bimmer. I switched from a Jap car to a bimmer in Nov. Bought an e39 523 year 2000 and although it is a 2.5 l engine I still find it dragging. Could not adjust to this drag. Tried a friend's e39 525 year 2003 (newer engine M54) and another friend's e39 528 year 2000 and started to bang my heads against the wall everyday. Both friends e39 are much better in acceleration power. So different !!! Anyway, have to live with this bimmer for the time being and at the same time looking at ways to improve on its performance. So buddy, if can afford, and if you still want to go for a 5 series, go for the bigger cc.
Not sure about the 3 series though. May be the 318 with 2 l engine is suffice for a good acceleration... ? Have to get feedback from our 3-er brothers.
Dont be scared lah ... we have so many bros in here to help .... just like I got when I was running around solving my bimmer problems.

Yea, the 5 serious is more spacious.

Welcome lah to the world of bimmer.

Come come come ......
