BMW 318i Pre-facelift

Guys,need your advice here.My BMW 318i Pre-facelift start to vibrating when start and idle, advice by mechanic that this could be due 'air valve' leakage... rpm also up and down intermittently... He said. Unlike 318 'facelift' which might due to 'ignition coil' kaput, this could be due 'air valve' leakage...Is this correct? How much is the price for repair? Just don wan to be slaughter only...Anyone experience this before?Kindly help. I plan to go soon...

I had a similar problem once in a while during start up, but my mechanic took care of the 'Air Flow Sensor', that solved everything.
