Yup, our E90s are prepped up for the goodies. I'm not sure if me mum's car came with the oem alarm or not. I'm sure it's got alarm, rite? I mean, nowadays they come as standard I think...

Well, I think I'll go for the bluetooth anyway, and maybe the changer as well... Times like this is when I start to regret not insisting on the 325i, haih :( And no, I've crossed-checked... Can't find no torch! Oh yeah, I need to get 'em chrome trims for the ugly single-barrel pipe too!!! Yeuchk!

My May '05 (first batch I think) doesn't come standard with alarm. Don't know about later batches and CKD models. Mabye some of the other guys/gals can confirm this?

my september cbu car comes with the alarm built in.
ckd's also has this as std feature.

My 2006 CKD does not come with a BMW alarm, only immobiliser circuit. Is that what you mean? The BMW alarm comes with the clown nose on the rear view mirror (I think) and my RVM definitely is clown-nose free

pkw88: do you think you can get a scanned copy of BMW AB's accessories and installation out here. I would like to take a peek.

In the meanwhile, this is the US/EU E90 accessories brochure scans...prices and part number.

Was in AB this morning. Thought everybody would like to see what AB charges for retrofitting accessory packages for the e90. This is the first time I've tried uploading scans so let me know if it didn't work!

Yeah, 25.6k for the 179 rims. Or in other words, 9% of the cost of a new 325. And no trade in given. What a sorry state of ransom AB have on us!

Might have to bite the bullet on the iPod dock, though. I need my iPod!

are you sure your CBU Sept 2005 built came equipped with alarm?

of all the times i visited the dealer since the E90 was launched in April 2005, there's not a single CBU model came with the alarm factory fitted. Or is yours 330i?

pkw88: Thanks for the upload....

Because of the cheap labor prices there, the total costs of these accessories are equal out with US prices.

The M-kit is not too badly priced actually. The kit costs about $1,300 here but add paint and labor and there have been quotes in the $2,500 range which is not too far off from AB's price.

Same with the rear spoiler...

Those cameras are useless. The Ipod interface with installation is spot on the US pricing with labor. The illuminated door sill is way more expensive but this is a crazy add on anyways (US about 800 bucks). The mudflaps are expensive and its easily DIY-able (costs about $50-60 for f/r set). The wood trim installs are ridiculous though.....

And what the heck is a "carbonated Front Apron"?? lol Sounds refreshing...:D

I think they meant the Carbon Fibre Front Splitters....looks ridiculously priced. Its about 600-700 for the pair (dealer prices) and is also easily DIY-able.

I like the menu approach though...its straightforward. I assume these prices are open for negotiation?

You dun have to pay so much for the iPod interface. Mine is working well even without the interface.

True...the e90 has an aux in. Just buy a Belkin plug or Monster Cable plug.

That's right. The AUX input in the arm-rest. You just need to get the right plugs for the IPOD and AUX input and you are ready to go

We look at US prices for these parts which are low compared to Malaysia, and we think we've being had! We forget labour rates are higher over there. Thanks for reminding us of that!

As to negotiable prices, not from my experience with Sg Besi AB. They didn't budge one sen! Pox on them all!!!

True, exactly what I've been doing, but you can't control the iPod from the steering wheel controls (except for volume). Asking for trouble if I start looking for that track I wanted to listen to, travelling at 110 km/hr

Yep...I believe service labor is about $100 per hour here. That's RM370 per hr  lol. Case in point, for the ipod install, dealers were asking anywhere between 3 to 5 hours....

It sucks that AB prices are non negotiable. Couldn't a better deal be factored in if the accessories were ordered/installed pre-delivery?

That's what wives/girlfriends are for ;) lol. Seriously, I rely on the playlists, but there has been time I have attempted risky practices to get to a song. The ipod screens can be rather small :D

sorry to revive such an old thread,
need sifus help on couple of things,

1)the Aux in cable where to get (assuming i m having some mp3 player, not an iPod)
2)the mudflaps are for sale and how much are them if get it outside of AB?
3)illuminated door sills from singapore how much ya?

Referring to Q1:
1) You can get the cable from any electronic components shop. It's very cheap, I think about RM10 should settle it. Just connect 1 end of the jack to your MP3 player (headphone output), and the other end to the AUX input in your car.

I have only tried connecting my phone to the AUX input for playing music, and I have to really turn up the volume controls on the car to get an audible signal.

You can get AUX cables from any hardware/electrical store. Just make sure one of the "heads" is the 3.5mm jack which is used to slot into the AUX input in the E90. Don't know about the mudflaps or illuminated door strips....sorry.
