i agree on Ah Wai. He solved my E39 longshaft problem for less than half a thousand. He did spend a lot of time on it but his diagnosis is spot on. Cheers to Ah Wai

Another shout of support for Ah Wai. He's not cheap but is good.

I'm one of those who migrated to Ah Wai in Cheras from USJ.............

Besides the condemned lousy workshop called M-Roadster in Pandan Indah described in this thread, what are the other thumbs-down workshops that we should avoid in KL?

Agreed with Ah Wai. Has been using him for the past 5 years. Good guy and honest. Had my E30 engine overhauled last year for RM5k but now running like new. Unfortunately, I live in PJ so I only send my car to him for serious problems else I use M1 at Kayu Ara. So far, pretty good service. Look up for KC.

I was in Pandan Indah yesterday, and happened to pass by that rotten M-Roadster workshop. It seems that they have changed from being a so-called bmw specialist to repairing Proton cars!! Saw 2 proton cars there.

I don't know whether to laugh or to shed tears for all the previous BMW owners who got conned by them.

Zeanli,

You are reminding me about my car. my e46 gearbox changed due to irresponsibility workshop AUTOC****! i kinda frustrated with MS****D who simply ask me change this and that.

The total cost me about the faulty RM28k plus new gearbox. i dunno whether that's new or not as the owner of M***** told me is brand new and brought from autobavaria..

The car over-heating when i traveling to outstation. tow back the car to KL therefore sent the car to the M*****. And this fellow kinda smart to do his business ask me to change this and that still cant solve the prob until his customer to remind him maybe air cond cooling. welll.... the prob finally solve it after changed new air cond cooling. i refused to pay him for the parts which he changed for my car.. anyhow i settled it just about CNY 08.

its normal for most workshop that if they know u have little knowledge on the car they normally take you on a ride wan...especially conti cars...when u say wah why so expensive their standard reply is....bro/sis...ur car costs how much?? so i charge u so and so thousand is only fraction of the car nia ler...then u like yahor....ok la...

ohhh they even threatened you?????

that is serious shit !!! if you can gather enough evidence, sue them whether in court or the tribunal. if they became abusive and starts threatening you and u feared for your safety, lodge a police report

and get help from the Yang Berkhidmat in your area!!!!!!! let YB do some work oso lah, they earn at least RM6-7 K a month inclusive of allowances. they usually help!

but you better be careful not to be accused something that is not true or else they can sue u for defamation in return !

Hello t2ribena,

Yeah... anyway treat it as expensive experience. you are right becos of i new to the continental car so kena 'con' by them. so i learn to ask opinion before changing anything.

E90, got it from last mth :)
cool in power but taking corner in highway can't reach my expectation.. have to wait for the warranty expired only can plan for change the suspension e.g absorber, spring or whatever... am headache now as i do not want to lower my car.. any suggestion?

Just came across this thread while looking for a solution for my ECU's coding error.

Now I remember. I have been having this diagnostic problem since I upgraded my software there "Program error: Coding not found". A friend brought me there a year ago and that was my second service and noticed a problem after that when my gearshift acted weird ie revving up to 4-5k before the gear shifts.

Went to Optimum thereafter and was told of this problem. They were kind enough to recode my ECU 3 times FOC but the problem persists. Even my car key memory doesn't work now. Optimum asked me if I did anything to the ECU and I couldn't recall till now. The last time they told me to get a new ECU but its cost almost 8k!!!

And I thought it was because of my CD player which I changed, all this while and I logged on to see if I could find a solution for my ECU or a mechanic who can do it.

Any help from the sifus?

At least you managed to get some compensation from them. Keep your heads up though, because I think there are still many good honest workshops out there.

For me, I'm still looking for a capable workshop within the Cheras area,...sigh. Most of the good workshops seem to be in PJ or USJ areas.

My secondhand car dealer sent my car to a workshop in cheras area, which is LB smart Auto Service. I have yet to collect my car yet....i m getting it tml..by the way my car is going through a top overhaul to change valve seal, piston ring and etc to solve the makan minyak hitam problem for N46 engine.

i personally visited the workshop, big workshop at industrial area, they are not only fixing bimmer, they also fixing rolls royce, Ferrari and porsch, VW , Merz....even they print type of car they service and repair on their name card. When i visit, saw bimmer , Merz and also rolls royce was there. mostly they deal with expensive car....they also service JDM like Murano, Alphad and also harrier, lexus.

U can check them out.

i stay in PJ, my car always send to this sifu, he is good 0196641974(Kent)....... before this i ask around in pj area , all quoted me sky high prices...... another extra services is , if you really busy, he will come over to collect the car...... hahah.....

If you are talking about Ah Wai BM World, I think there is quite a handful of members who use him as the regular mechanic. He's very sharp coupled with well trained staff and ample tools he gets the job done. But there are those that dislike to take him on as they can't part with their money. Personally I think the guy deserved to be paid what he bills cause he came from nothing to be something and he's good at what he does. I don't think he appreciates cheapskates and people who don't identify with his skills. Just my thoughts, ok bro.:top:

Where is this BM World located ?
