Please be beware of this particular shaddy workshop called "M-Roadster" which is located in Pandan Indah. This incompetent & dishonest workshop SUCKS Big Time!!! Don't waste your time and money with them. They can't even service or repair an E46 properly. All they do is damage our beloved BMWs and charge customers exorbitantly for their own incompetency & mistakes!I sent my tip-top condition E46 to them for a routine service and my beloved ride ended up having a damaged ECU due to negligence of their mechanics. What pisses me off even more is their arrogant attitude (changed from being polite) after the problem happened. They kept insisting that ECU was most probably faulty before they "touch" the car and they even had the balls to advice me that I should not have bought the 2004 model as it has alot of issues...bla bla bla...Heck, I have been driving the car for a few years now without any issues, until these incompetent ppl screwed it up. Should have brought it to my regular mechanic......

You are not the only one...I had a disastrous experience with MRoadster in Pandah Indah too some time back. The moment the problems arise, their attitude changed to that of thugs and start accusing of this and that instead of correcting the problems which they had creating in the first place.

To everyone out there, Just steer clear of this crap place if you can.

Zeanli,

so whats the end story. Did you manage to get them to pay for the damage. if not, report it to the tribunal

i equate the mechanics here to those thugs or mobile phone sellers in petaling street. all same attitude. thats the reason i go to 'expensive' authorised service centers la. pay a bit more, but peace of mind. those mechanics especially those in places like pandan indah and other dodgy places are no different from dealing with gangsters. a few good ones exists, but rare. go to these places at your own risk.

guys should refer to the list of workshops listed in the forum for good work done. and i agree with some suggestion here, we should report these black sheeps to the consumer tribunal. at least they get blacklisted.

They refused to take responsibility, and I had to tow my car back to Seremban. My baby needs a ECU replacement which my regular workshop in Seremban managed to source 2nd hand. Its costing me a few thousand for this repair. I was going to file a report to the consumer tribunal but my bf advised me to just forget about it. But I'm still eager to do it. Does anyone know the process to file a complain?

I'm still a little scared & troubled because the thugs in the workshop warned me against making any noises..and that they know will know where I live by my car's number plate. They claimed to have buddies in Seremban.

before you decide to go ahead with the consumer tribunal, suggest to make a police report for the threats made by the thugs.

should you decide to go ahead with the consumer tribunal, you will need to prove that the damage was indeed caused by m-roadster and not something coincidental that happened whilst the car was in their m-roadster's care.

suggest to talk with the people in the consumer tribunal where you will be a better picture for your case.ie. chances of getting a settlement for your damages and inconveniences incurred as a direct or indirect consequence of m-roadster's negligence.

sounds really like gangster than mechanic.....

1. How do they know that the ECU is damaged?
2. Your suspicion that the owrkshop damaged the ECU could be reasonable as you can drive the car for normal service but have to tow the car out.
3. BTW, was the service light and service bar showing green or orange just prior to sending the car for servicing.
4. What is the indication of the service bar and service inspection?

There is a high possibilty that the ECU could be damaged when they tried to reset the "SERVICE LIGHT" without using the proper tool or technique.

question, would it be possible to print out a computer printout from the ECU when the mechanics started messing with it and damaging it in the process? surely there is some data somewhere....

fuyohhh like this type of workshop also ada ka ....will keep gansters to warn their customers ....

Unfortunately.. NO.. The E46 and e36 ECU does not have date and time stamp feature.. However, it has a small memory to store fault event for diagnostic purposes.

If the ECU is damaged, chances of retriving data is also slim as you cannot communicate with it..

I think the E90 ECU might have the date and time feature..

i think the workshop deserves a molotov cocktail on their front door. raya greetings from their customers...

wah! darn good suggestion, bro! why didn't i think of this...losing my touch!

To update everyone & to make it brief,

My bf's brother brought some his pals over to "discuss" with the workshop and they finally agreed to bear 30% of the cost of the new 2nd hand ECU. It's better than nothing, I guess.

Right now, I just want to leave this bad episode behind me and get my baby running again. My car should be ready from my regular mechanic tommorow. I hope nobody else, especially girls like me, will need to suffer like this from these samsengs in the future.

Thanks everyone for the concern & assistance!

At least you managed to get some compensation from them. Keep your heads up though, because I think there are still many good honest workshops out there.

For me, I'm still looking for a capable workshop within the Cheras area,...sigh. Most of the good workshops seem to be in PJ or USJ areas.
