Bad FM reception on OEM radio E46

No problem with my FM.. Not sure about AM coz never use that frequency.

Yours UDM japan Spec?

UK Spec. poor FM reception. . .cant even get a proper quality reception on 95.8 or 104.9. . would not want to change the unit, as steering function is crucial to me. he he

UK Spec should be OK.
Please check the antenna and the diversity amplifier at the C-pillar and rear windscreen for loose connection.

If the HU is faulty, you can consider to change to HLG or Dynawin unit.

Yes it was on the Left Side of the C pillar, i remember when i diy my rear sunshade and attached pic below will show the antenna and the diversity amplifier located.

Found the culprit, loose coax wire screwed connection to the amplifier box. Located behind the "C" pillar. I've found that some oxidation accumulates on the connector's threads. Give the threads a bit of a cleaning to restore the shine. FIXED. he he. Thanks Jarance. .
