Automatic transmission oil cooler (M54)

The E60 has a water cooled tranny oil cooler as opposed to the e39 which has an air cooled tranny oil cooler.Has anyone replaced the oil cooler as a preventive measure?If the cooler breaks internally,the coolant will mix with the ATF and may well cause damage to the tranny!

Oh the price to pay for efficiency.......

My ride is 2004 and I just did it @ 220K. Actually my auto tranny was having some issue.
Instead of overhaul, I got it replaced at a very good price. Workshop recommend to change
the cooler at the same since also doing the GBox.
