Hi Guys,my auto trans is currently a ZF 5HP-18 running with a M50 320i non vanos. Doing a complete transplant to a 325i Vanos but half cut comes with Jatco Auto box ( Japanese Domestic Model )Will the prop shaft from the 325i mount with no problem to my ori 320i rear differential? or do I need to modify further to suit?Lastly, any forum members know where can I get the gear selector cable for the Jatco Auto trans in JB?ThanksMax

huh...??? i'd change from a GM to ZF 5hp18..and avoiding Jatco...why are you putting on Jatco..???

IF you do ... please donate ur ZF5hp18 to me please.... :yahoo: yay...!!!!!! :yahoo:

btw, if i'm not wrong the ZF is compatible to ur vanos engine la... i still prefers the ZF.. B)

Hmmm, I do not mind getting the ZF5HP18 as a spare gearbox....

The 325i came with a Jatco gearbox so got to use it as the wiring harness is meant for a Jatco auto trans and it's not compatible with the ZF trans wiring harness.

Correct me if I am wrong, the Jatco gearbox is similar to the skyline GTT in terms of outer appearance and ZF and Getrag are not reliable base on my experience.

Alpina uses Jatco on some of their cars as well in Uk.

So.. since got A5S300J that came with the 325i, just give it a try.

Lastly, I am still wondering if anyone can advice me if the propeller shaft from the 325i will match my differential

Any expert advice??
