Didn't expect the price for the W221 to drop that low actually... Seems like a good bargain!

Yeah, car when new >RM600k!

I know someone who works in AB. The electronics are notoriously expensive so be careful of especially recond cars.

Check car instrumentation thoroughly before giving cheque.

Noted with thanks bro..

the one in carlist, is ori facelift by looking at the i-drive button and the radio button.

the one in mudah, where there's a F02 next to it, has been viewed by my fren. not maintained by AB but sent the car at Quill for maintenance. guess the current plate number at the car? L7!

Really? i remember i saw this no plate L7 on the road but i cant remember it is on an E66. L7 is very chun especially when the 7 is placed like an inverted L.

My fren bought the car already..the L7 has been into many cars before as what the owner told me. inherited number from his grandfather. really well maintained car and looks like new :)

I was interested in getting 730i 2005 manufactured. But after going to the bank, I was shown the breakdown in getting a brand new car as opposed to a secondhand 2005 car based on BMW 7 series resale history, for under 200,000 ringgit, I will be financially better off not getting a near 7 year old car.

The conclusion was that a 10-12 year old BMW is probably the best time to get one at. After that value is beyond subjective :43:

From reading this forum over the last few year, a lot of ppl here do things that are not financially sound... if they do, the forum traffic will be cut by 90%... hahahah!!

Haha. Good point. We run with our hearts when it comes to our cars, not with our heads. That is why we are called enthusiasts ma :)

Almost all BMW owners will be financially better off if they did not own one...

2005 pre-facelift 7 series is selling around RM160k. assume u keep it for 5 years, resale value at the end should be around RM70k. so average RM18k per year (excluding maintenance) is not really too bad.

Do any of you here own 730i? I am interested to know of problems and the cost. I am not sure if I am paying too much.

Hi Jarence, yah, like Bro EL118, I had an E65 (2008 model) and I traded that in for an F02 (2011). The E65 ran like a dream, and I have to admit, the F02 is right up there as well - they are good, reliable cars, but as with any purchase, sometimes it's the luck of the buyer. Caveat Emptor bro, and good luck!

Hi Jarence and Wobbles

The E65 bodyshape lasted from 2002 to 2008? Mine was beautifully maintained by the first owner. No vibrations at all. I prefer this to my brother's S Class. Feels bulletproof inside and bit more legroom than S Class at the rear. I think it looks better than the S Class of that period today.

Only recently, the problem I have are light vibrations surfacing at very low speeds only. All these happened after someone drove my car for a short period. Now it can be felt through the seats and steering. I have been told it is shaft related. Not so bulletproof after all?

Bro jarence,

So sorry to hear about your low frequency vibrations. As you said, God knows what that driver did with your car - but I gotta give it to you - NOBODY, and I mean NOBODY - except Her Royal Highness (aka Her darling Majesty) gets the keys to my car(s)! Boy, you sure are generous :).

Hope the vibrations get fixed bro! Good luck!
