Hi guys,Need help to identify a replacement jack for my e36 . My current jack cannot be used as I have installed bodykits without any holes at the side (to fit the jack arms) or rather wouldn't want to make the ugly holes. I know the standard jacks you get from the parts shop will not hold the weight of the e36, so I am up for suggestions. I think something like the e46 jacks will require a "slot" under the side to prevent the jacking surface from sliding, which the e36 does not have. Thanks.

Pasang RFT... can forget about jacks and spare tyre.. car runs lighter, fuel consumption improve.. :D

Kidding.. :p

Yes.. Daniel... u right! Its blardy explandasive!! and hevi!!

... but our friend's car cannot jack mah because sakit hati to cut a lobang on the side skirt... so might as well no need to carry spare tyre loo... and throw away the jack.. just apply an AAM membership would do.... I think..

Can you answer the man's question? If you have nothing to contribute, don't post unnecessarily.

Thank you Crymson SIR for ur contribution!

Yeah, I guess AAM is a better idea than run-flats. AAM is good for cities and big towns, not obscure Power Plant sites in the middle of nowhere. If anyone with the older 3 or 5 series can give some insight / picture on how their jacks work (can it be universally used in other cars?) etc, I would appreciate it. Thanks.

This is the E36 jack..

Cucuk the folded section from the first picture, place the jack standing on the floor and start winding the wind handle..

No! I have not seen other non BMW cars that has this lobang.. so u can't use the jack on other cars..

Suggest that you go to Carefour or Jusco and get a set of Trolley Jacks. Price should be about RM60. (1 or 2 tons) Easy to use but will take up some space in your booth.

Ahhh... the good ol' e36 jack:top:... very strong too, however without the "lobang" (thanks for the very graphical "lobang" pictures astroboy:wink:) which is something I'm trying not to make on my new skirts.
I do have the 2 ton jack which I use to do all my DIY work but kinda bulky to lug around...

Without the lobang, u really don't have much choice.. My E90 lagi worst.. no jack and spare tyre even.. want to spend more time with the car for DIY also susah..

Unless u build a wooden ramp for the car to drive up for your under carriage work like draining engine oil and so forth, but u can't change wheels with a ramp.
