Alarm System Help on E38

Guys,My car has this problem, which i can't use my remote key to open and close the door lock. I have tried to initialise many times but failed, except that when i initialise my key with other E38, it's working. So, i have already checked from realoem for the alarm system and found that there's another area that i should look into, the control unit for the radio remote control. I wonder where's the location of this thing. Please refer pic below for reference.

The radio remote module is usually in the C-pillar and the GM3 module is usually under the glove compartment.

The GMIII module control the opening/closing of the door, fuel filler, boot and all the power windows. it will also open all doors when it detect a crash condition.

The GM3 module communicate with remote radio module to open or close the door.

Sorry.. No experience with E38. Just speaking from E46 experience.

Guys, just to update on my E38 problem...now the alarm system has been solved. Managed to ebayed the item as the pic below and walla...all working fine! Thanks to all for the advice and feedback!

Most of the chop shop here selling the different frequency, i.e 315mhz instead of 433mhz. So have to refer to ebay uk for this.

So this is the remote ANTENNA ? It is located at C pillar ?
If IR remote key want to change to diamond shape key then need to change this ANTENNA ?

Just sample la, and i got it cheap from other breaker..tt? very hard la during weekdays in fasting month. but i'm always there at ss19 at my parents house buka puasa...missus dun give visa

Yes, located at C pillar on the right side. U can change when upgrade the key but the thing is u have to confirm the frequency match or not. and summore, no warranty whether it'll works or not.....
