Aircond Issue F10 - Fault ID 801222

Good Day Guys..

I have a 2011 528i F10. lately I am facing this issue where my air cond is not cold Intermittently. When checked at a workshop the fault was 801222 "Air conditioning compressor: Switch-off due to missing DME/DDE release"

I sent it to auto bavaria, they advised that I might have to replace the compressor. I know the compressor is not jammed and I was not convinced, so I just asked them to conduct the regular service and not to replace the compressor.


Any of you have faces this before and any advise?

I just had this issue today, suddenly after a stop to drop kids off at tuition, started back, hear some sound, then the air cond started to become hot. Mine is F10 2012 528i. I'm looking for an outside mechanic to send to as my BSRI has expired. Contemplating.

I may send it to BMW for service and get them to check but not repair, like you did.

Looks like they only build cars to last the warranty period. My friends 4 years plus e200 cam shaft koyak. Had to pay half the cost of replacement.
