No, it is different. Air fresheners only masks the bad odor (either making molecules heavy or changing the molecules to fool your nose). They don't actually eliminate mould, bacteria or dust. Ionizers have been proven that it also reduces allergens.

Also my SA from Quill told me not to use air freshener after they replaced my cooling coil.

I agree with Benedict. There is a huge difference between air freshener and ioniser. The ioniser can clean the air and remove durian smell. The air freshener only masks the smell. In fact some of the chemicals used in the air fresheners are not good for health in the long run
