This happen to my bro 318i,2000, eng cant rev up to 3000rpm, feel the car just dont want to go. First suspected the plug, this morning sent to Mperformance they chk the air fow sensor problem, damages 1k.
 
same happen to my ride 318i sedan(2000)...cost about 1k plus but not so bad on the rev...happens only early in the morning and last only about 30 seconds before revert back to normal.

Hmmmm...why the discrepancies here in price?..worth an investigation...ok ok...gather all intel first on this...somethings fishy here! :D

You will have two option either to get a new one or get a 2nd hand. For me i prefer to get it cheap.. :D
 
wht so special with 3000 rpm?i remember our fren forummer here having same problem at 3000 rpm but diffrent solution solved it,mine oso same problem at 3000 rpm but the cat sensor is the problem.,
question is,why 3000 rpm?

change the o2 sensor at the same time and took back the old mass air sensor.new item bosch brand.check a few spare parts dealer and the price are almost the same.
