Guys,Here's my story,i think like six months ago due to improper way to clean the MAF then become faulty then have to change a new one but on 09/03/12,when i tekan minyak half way,i cant feel acceleration then a ! signal pop-out,i can feel that my idle is very unstable anymore...on 10/03/12 go to my mech there to diagnose...error code show air flow meter....buy a new bosch original air flow sensor to replace then everything become normal again...feel so happy about it...Today 29/03/12,same thing happened AGAIN! WTH...it just 20days only and the air flow sensor is faulty again....i try to tekan more minyak when i was on the move but i can feel that i tekan nothing...and like 15seconds later,my engine died...luckily i manage to turn into a parking space unless will make the road JAM...this time i cant even start my engine unless i unplug the sensor cable...sighz...did anyone face this problem before? or can any sifu advise that is there something else might be faulty that cause my MAF faulty again?? really fed up of this problem....Please help~

i just changed mine an hour ago. DIY. idling now OK, but CEL is illuminating. i guess i need to plug in scanner and clear the error to make the CEL disappears. did u clear yours after changing new MAF?

yes...clear the fault code after i changed the MAf...
btw...when the MAF is faulty/error,if i try ti clear this error code then the engine will straight away go died...

i see. we do not share similar MAF sensor. mine OEM by siemens VDO, yours bosch. they depend on engine types perhaps.

thomas,

where did you buy your MAF and for how did you pay for it.

If it failed within 20 days, maybe you can claim warranty from the shop that you buy it from.

I would check the connector for loose connection first at the MAF wiring.

my mech fren help me bought from spare parts shop...and i did send them for warranty....but they said not 100% can claim back for me since it dont provide warranty...
i will ask my fren to help me check on the connector see there is any loose connection...but i dont think there is...since i replace a new one...everything goes back to normal....
