To all Taikors,Went to see this 325i, 80k mileage, yr 2001, asking for RM118k, facelift(by owner), look quite well maintained(fr my eyes). Was deciding a "GO" for this unit, but hav few ques b4 putting the dpayment.1) can the mileage be faked?2) if it's genuine mileage, what should i look-out for the up-coming maintenance or possible parts replacement (dont have service records)3) i m thinking to bring the car to UDM specialist for inspection (any reckon for sunway/puchong/subang area?)... is there any charges?..etc[i dont have any UDM mechanics, pls reckon 1 that you think it's reliable.]many thx for de help.

Honestly for a car that new, you should have full service history(unless its a recon), otherwise I'd walk away from it.

IMHO, if u r looking a E46 325i, u should consider getting a car which has been fully maintained at Auto Bavaria or a BMW Specialist. Otherwise its like palying Russian roulet. Dont risk it. There are a lot of E46 out in the market as the 1st owners seek to upgrade their cars now( ie after 4-5 yrs) and having settled their loans. Just keep looking.

Best of Luck!

I will surely sign up as official member when I got my bimmer.

Few quick quest:
1) If I were to take the car for inspection b4 i write the dpayment chq in pg, any mechanic/workshop to recommend? Does AB provide such service? if yes, what's the damage like?

2) What about in PJ/Sunway/Puchong area? Any workshop provides inspection at certain fees?

Reason being, I am seeing few bimmers in PJ/Subang/Penang as well.

Thx in advance.

Hi there, and welcome.

Sorry to hijack a moment, I'm still curious why the price of a '01-'02 325 still cost more or around the price of say an '02-'03 525? I got 525 '02/reg '03 at rm12xk a mth back, face-lifted some more. So happen I'm in the market for a 5, but didn't really check out the reason. I'd believe 2001 e46 is still pre-facelift, and to me is still the better looking one.

Anyone can let me know the price when new for both model back at 2002-2003? If I'm not mistaken, 2003 is the last batch of e39. I can only recall 520 is around rm26xk.

cheers.

yup, agree. for used 2002 or so, you can get 5 series with the same price for 3.

btw, y there's no1 answering my quests? i guess ev1 is bz holiday-ing?

Sorry sold e46 5 years ago. Not up-to-date with the maintenance. Hope some e46 sifu can help you. Just make sure you budget around rm5k or more on top of the car price to get it in great condition and enjoy the ride.

Free bump for you.
