Advice on navigator

Guys, need some advice just bought UK spec 523i 2008. According to the sales rep since mine with double deck player (with DVD) thus they can install I-drive navi. Is that really reliable? That will cost them 1k plus ....after installing the NAVI CD ROM I won't be able to use my DVD anymore otherwise new setting need to be done...any advice pls.....
