Hi guysThanx for enabling me...again...Been some time now. I am facing major issue here. I put in AC gas and it will be gone in a day. Some say most probably is the cooling coil. I am not rich. So appreciate it if anyone have one lying around... or is there any other issues?TQ3

In most cases, it is due to the cooling coil. However, leaks may occur at some parts of the aircond piping as well. Do send your ride to a reputable aircond specialist for diagnosis. Recomended ones are Naidu @ Jln Gasing and Ah Seng of Shell TTDI.

Boy

Yes agree with Wingzee. please dont wait to go do a proper checkup. Chemical gas from the aircon is not healthy in the long run. therefore you should get it check out. Based on the age of the car cooling coil is the biggest suspect. You only need to change it once properly and it should last you quite long. Most likely your coil has never been changed since coming out of the factory so it has lasted close to 15 years. If you look at the roi you should be able to decide

thanx Wingzee & slyder
Never been to Naidu's nor Ah Seng's...but will do so a.s.a.p....
Yup, it aint close to 15yrs, mine is already 19yrs old already man..

If anyone have a unit lying around.....

Wow well if i am not mistaken cooling coil should cost around 2000 ++ i think. not sure. but if you have run it for 19 years that would equate to around rm 100 - 150 per year which is about rm 0.50 per day :p

there are two type of cc ( copper and alu ) using copper ones and so far it's been almost 8 years and still running fine without any hic-cups ...

cost wise the copper one is cheaper compared to the aluminium ones ... around rm550 for copper and rm800 for alu ...

as for workshop you may try nathan from BG as he's pretty well verse for an e36 ...if you have one on your own then it would be the best ..

Are those prices for original replacement part? Was quoted RM1500 for my E46's alu cc. Even a halfcut unit costs RM450. :(

Hey Iceman
