Absorber Mounting Bolt n Nut

Guys,manage to get a local strut bar for my E34. Problem is, the 3 bolt/screw that hold the mounting is too short. When I put in the strut bar, I cannot tighten it to the max. Doesn't give me the peace of mind.I use to get a longer bolt/screw for my E30 a few yrs back from Bavarian. They no longer hv it in stock.ANy idea where I can get it? Getting itchy already ..

you can consider to trim down the mounting plate for the strut bar.. btw how thick is your strut bar mounting plate..

I think approx 1/2 cm. I dun think I can skim the mounting.

1/2 cm or 5mm. yes you can trim the depth to about 2 mm thick by using a boring tool. I think the base would be strong enough.

mrhartge,nope, wrong guess .. Strut bar will not add POWER to my old M30. Something else ...... jarance,I think I know what u mean. Let me give it a shot. Thanks

hoi, don't do it.. it was made for a purpose to hold in place. go and remove the studs and replace it with a longer type.. and nut and bolt shop has it..try at sunway industrial area or pj jalan gasingbye

blackcat, you mean taht the stud bolt for the mounting can be removed? If like that, better replace the stud bolt. stud bolt can be buy at speciality shop. Make sur that they are high tensile steel stud bolt..
