Salam Syawal to everyone!I baru view a 530i [ forgive me bro, but I would want to have second opinion. I hope it's ok with u! ].Overall the interior is clean and works fine, seems that there's no dead pixels too on both the cluster meter and the aircond panel. Multifunction 3 spoke steering with M badge. How to ensure it's an ori M - Sport from the interior? This 530i got :- black interior throughout including the roof lining and pillars.- BMW black leather sport seats, manual adjustment.- aluminum trim thoughout.- CD changer at the back.- M strip at the doors.- multifunction M 3 spoke steering.Fella removed the hose for front light washer. Dampers changed to Bilstein B8 with M - Sport springs, slightly bumpy but for me I don't mind bumpy as long as the car handles fine and dandy, plus the dampers still work fine as it does not "crash".The left front door needs realignment. Where and how much roughly this will be?Front bumper needs to be repainted due to too many stone chips. Plenty of paint chipping on the whole left side. One 4 -5 inches++ scratch on the left upper side, i think it's at the C pillar or around there. Much lesser paint chipping on the right. Plenty of paint chipping on the doors [ where you open the door and the edge of the door hits a wall / other cars etc ]. Slight dent on the fuel cap cover. The engine is roaring, both auto, sport and semi-auto works fine. Handling is good. No shakes on the pedal / steering wheel when braking. Requires a better airbox / CAI setup for roaring intake sound, come swith Supersprint exhaust [ not sure just the muffler, or muffler with B pipe ]. The ABS module got some sort of heat shield, not sure stock or custom, but not like initialM's custom heatshield work.Interior is clean, but a really good 1 day work with Leatherique will surely improve the leather. He told me the front disc, brake hoses and the front bumper needs to be repainted. Plenty of receipts [ but they're only dating from the time the current driver took over the car ], seems that the car is maintained at M Speed USJ [ as it's close to the owner's place perhaps ].Now, with the front bumper requires painting [ really bad stone chips i tell u, like a massive pimple breakout case wan ], front left door requires realignment, plus at least paint touch - ups on various parts of the car, front discs change, all brake hoses to be changed, is the asking price of RM 105k all right, or once i get the approval from my old man, push for a discount? I believe if the owner is willing to discount it to facilitate all the repairs that needs to be done [ probably repaint the whole exterior as i think it's not worth it to just repaint the front end, and touch up the paint chips here and there, remove the dent at the fuel filler door, new front discs, new brake hoses all around ]Or should I lower my expectation, and buy the car, or shop more for a 528i instead? No issue for me to pay the road tax and insurance as i've got the max NCB / NCD lolz.Asking for RM 105k non - nego. What say you fellas? For me, i think i should only nego when i got the approval from my old man [ major factor here as i work for him for the past 15 years++ lol ].

Bro,

Believe this 530i belongs to one of our Club guest. Your accessment of said car is quite remarkable and precise. A good condition 530i is quite difficult to come by these days. Getting a 528i (M52TU) maybe a good option in terms of price but then again, the 530i (M54) M sport is a total different animal altogether. I have used M Speed many times and cars that are maintained by M Speed should be in reasonably good condition (provided the owner is not on a shoe string budget). The only repairs needed for this car are a new coat of paint, new disc rotors, new pads and brake hoses and these are considered as minimal for a car of its age. As for the price nego, it would always be better to do it once you are ready with the approval. End of the day, the final price is between willing seller and willing buyer.

Thanks Herbert. Yah, as a gentleman, I feel that price negotiation should only be done when I have the approval of my dad and money for the deposit bfr I'm applying for loan [ which shouldn't be too hard as the are BMWCM forummers here who can help out ].

Thanks for your praise sir, I think this assessment practice came from my previous hobby of detailing cars [ and the blog is still actively receiving hits although I have not updated it for 2 years or so! ], and yeah, the new love for Beemers as I want to go further up the ladder, from loud, noisy, cars - built - for - corners to Uncle - style with high end power lolz [ blame this to initalM's Youtube vids lolz ]!

The hard part now is to convince my old man [ he's 66 years old, and u know lah, dads who come from the old school of thinking can be too hard to please sometimes ] that it's worth it to buy the 530i. But last week he told me the story of him chasing a 330i methinks, hehehe told me our E46 cannot keep up with the E46 330i lolz.

Personally, to me, repainting the exterior, take out the dents, discs, pads and brake hoses, is normal when one buys a 2nd hand car. But I am not sure whether I share the same thought and thinking with my dad. Oh well, need to discuss this with my old man when my mum's not around lah, she's the reason why the E46 I'm driving has to be sold off. One thing to be sure off, my old man likes BMW's. As the 530i's caretaker told me, yeah, it would have been a good idea if my dad was with me when I tested the car.

Is there any difference, in terms of chassis, between a 528i and the 530i M - Sport? Like for example, I've seen a few M3's and one M5 often, and whenever these cars are hoisted, I take a long peek at the undercarriage. For E36 M3, I've seen the lower rear arms stamped with the M and the three slanted - to - one - side stripes. E46 M3's I'm not too sure, forgot oledi liao. I'll take a peek or better yet, some pics of an M5's undercarriage tomorrow and post it up here so sifu's can tell me the difference with 530i, or 528i.

528 and 530 share the same chasis platform so the difference are items of the M-sport set-up in the 530 i.e. bigger anti roll bars, suspension, interior trimmings, rims and etc and not forgetting the power train of 231 hp!!

Best person to ask about the difference between 528i and 530i is Harbajan. He used to own a 528iTU and just upgraded to a 530i m-sport

I have whacked both! 528 double vanos and 530 m sport. They may be on a same chasis but 3 litre is nicely matched wt its outstanding handling properties. In short, it makes a big diff. Consider the rest of the m sport goodies as 2 bonus. Good luck

Ok thanks for all the advice and racun guys. I'll try to take my old man out for lunch tomorrow [ he's a busy man lolz ] as we have loads to discuss about. Pray for me that he'll say yes to this 530i M Sport, then I'll sign up the club and go, as initialM sezs, robeking cars on the highway lolz.

hhhmmm ok will PM him and quote your name brah. heheh! the difference in amount of horses ain't much, but it's the torque, fuh! i have yet to get a personal time with my old man. he likes beemers although he's 66 years old, dislikes mercs because to him they're not as sporty, as comfortable or got handling prowess compared to beemers lol. gotta get to chat with him without the Finance Minister around! ah, the pains of working for your old man!

My sincere thanks to Enche Affan, Enche Yazid, Enche Realred, Enche Ravikumar for all the help. Plus the racun guys [ u know who u are lolz! ]. I hope I can coax my dad to at least view the car tomorrow. But my old man is the old school type of old man and sometimes can be very hard to coax wan. He's the brash, loud type of old man lolz.

It would be best if there are senior members who are driving similar cars to be there and coax my old man at the same time lolz, because I fear that he'll be put off my the exterior that requires repainting, although the interior is quite mint, the engine is eager to rev and the auto box is fine, plus the responsive chassis that really surprises me.
